Chapter 28: Geng Zhishan Was Infuriated (2/2)

Xie Mengxuan looked at the scene. She knew she couldn’t ignore it, so she stood up and went to the doorway. Gu Yusheng moved his ears and said in a low voice, “If you stay away from Xie Mengxuan, I will leave you a way to live.”

Geng Zhishan seemed to be irritated. He shoved Gu Yusheng away with a strong force. “You are really confident, but you’d better leave the backdoor open in case you change your mind. Or else, it blows up in your face, and it’s too late to regret.”

“It seems I am right because you’re enraged. Geng Zhishan, you are indeed a kept man, obsequious to rich and powerful people .”

What Gu Yusheng said really enraged Geng Zhishan. He strode forward with his face getting gloomy. He was trying to throw his clenched fist at him.

Xie Mengxuan was shocked and said, “Geng Zhishan! Stop it!”

Geng Zhishan’s fist stopped in front of Gu Yusheng’s cheek. However, Xie Mengxuan was full of disappointment. “Geng Zhishan, how can you be such a person? I am so let down by you.”

“Darling, it’s not what you think.” Geng Zhishan blinked, came to himself, and strode forward to explain.

However, Xie Mengxuan frowned and stepped back, bypassing Geng Zhishan, moving jerkily to Gu Yusheng, and said, “Brother Gu, are you alright?”

Gu Yusheng covered his chest with one hand and said with a smile, “I’m fine. This man is only all brawn but no brains. I was afraid that I’ll hurt him, so I didn’t fight back just now.”

“I know you were concerned about me. I’m sorry; he wasn’t like that before.” Xie Mengxuan showed guilt on her face.

Geng Zhishan stood aside and was seething with rage. He eagerly walked up to the two people and shouted, “It was Gu Yusheng who made me angry. He said that even if he killed me, you wouldn’t be sad.”

“What are you talking about? I believe that Brother Gu would never say that.” Xie Mengxuan was disheartened, but there was still something different in her eyes.

As soon as she had finished, Gu Yusheng shook his head with a false smile and said, “It seems that Mr. Geng has a misunderstanding of me. It is really troublesome.”

It was really unpleasant seeing him acting like a victim.

“Darling, I’m not lying, and he said I am a kept man who wanted to flatter you.” Geng was way too angry to even say a complete sentence.

Xie Mengxuan said grimly, “Geng Zhishan, stop; no more of this. Brother Gu is not a man of that sort. I know you’re not satisfied with me going away. But you can’t frame him like this; it’s just inappropriate.”

Xie Mengxuan then said something to Gu Yusheng, and they both went back to their own rooms, respectively. Geng Zhishan opened his mouth, shock written all over his face. He seemed to be asking what had just happened here?

But Xie Mengxuan did not spare him a glance. When she was returning to the house, before she closed the door, she said, “Geng Zhishan, don’t call me so intimately in the future; you can address me as Xie Mengxuan. I’m not your wife. What you call will cause misunderstandings, so please change it.”

“Darling~” Geng Zhishan stammered, reaching out a hand with an incredulous face.

Gu Yusheng gave Geng Zhishan a provocative look before closing the door, as if to say, ‘Look, no matter how much you explain yourself, Xie Mengxuan believes in me!’ Then he closed the door.

Xie Mengxuan sat in her room, her dismay disappearing. Her eyes gleamed brightly in the dark as she peered outside, seemingly thinking about something. She eventually sighed and lay down to sleep.

Outside, Geng Zhishan lowered his head without saying a single word more. After a while, he slowly walked to the front of the house and sat down. A faint aroma was slowly permeating the room.
