Chapter 393 - A Good Place to Start Investigation (1/2)
Once the couple went back to the hotel, Zhang Yu Han sent his wife back to their suite before he went to his office giving her an excuse that he had some work matter to look at.
Once he was alone in his office, Zhang Yu Han slumped into his chair and took out his phone to dialed Qi Ming Wei's number.
It did not take too long before the phone call was connected.
”I heard that Li Mu Chen frequently visited a club in Gold Street,” Zhang Yu Han said. ”According to his brother, his sister visited that club ever since her mother was put into prison. If it was true that Li Mu Chen had contacted someone to help her, she might have met someone at this club. This would be a good place to start your investigation.”
”Gold street?” Qi Ming Wei repeated the name. There was a click-clacking sound in the background before he spoke again. ”There are several clubs and bars in the street. ”Garnet, Upstairs, Helena, Night Falls…”
”Upstairs,” Zhang Yu Han chimed in. ”That's the one that Li Mu Bai had mentioned. A few days before Li Mu Chen was caught, her brother had sent some people to follow after her. He couldn't find anything unusual from his sister's visit to the club. But you might find something different.”
”Got it,” Qi Ming Wei spoke. ”I will send my men to look into the place.”
”Just to be safe, perhaps you should look into every club around the street.”
”I know. I will, Qi Ming Wei said. ”You're in Capital City, right? When are you planning to return?”
”We should return to Y City the next morning. What's the matter?”
”I don't advise you to stay in Capital City for too long. If what you suspected was true, then, staying in Capital City for too long would be dangerous for you.”
A frown appeared on his face as he heard Qi Ming Wei's warning. ”I know.”
”Until the situation in Capital City is stabilized, don't come over too often.”
The two had a brief chat before Zhang Yu Han ended the call. He leaned on his chair and sat there for a long time to compose himself.
He had deliberately avoided his wife and come up to talk with Qi Ming Wei as he did not want his wife to worry too much. Zhang Yu Han knew that his wife's worried gaze would make his heartache. If he can, he wanted to let his wife and daughter live with him without worry.
Once he had sorted out his mind, Zhang Yu Han looked over the documents that the general manager had sent him before he went back to their suite.
As he walked into the room, Zhang Yu Han could hear Li Xue's laughter. He followed the sound and found that the mother and daughter were in the bathroom. The little girl was taking her bath in the bathtub with her bath time toys all around her. Zhang Li Xue raised her hand and splashed the water. Then, she looked at her mother and laughed.
”Zhang Li Xue, you naughty girl,” Li Qin Yao chuckled. She supported her daughter with one hand and wiped the water on her face with another. ”Now you made me wet all over.”
The little girl laughed at her mother's words. Her gaze then shifted to the door and her eyes widened when she saw her father. Then, Zhang Li Xue started to chatter and splashed more water around.
