Li Qin Yao walked out of the nursery room and sighed as she recalled how her daughter had acted earlier. When she had shown up, Zhang Li Xue had cried as if she was wronged. Even when she was drinking her milk, her tears keep pouring out. But still, the little girl continued to drink her milk greedily.
Zhang Li Xue had soon fallen asleep with tears at the rim of her eyes and her lips slightly pouting. The little princess had gripped on her mother's shirt tightly as if she was afraid that once she let go, her mother will leave her again.
In the end, Li Qin Yao had to stay with the little girl for a long time until she had fallen into a deep sleep before she can leave the room.
”Is she asleep?”
Li Qin Yao looked up from and saw her husband walked over to her with a glass of water for her. ”Hmm,” Li Qin Yao nodded. She took a sip from the water and looked at her husband again.
”If you find it hard to part with Li Xue, you can always continue to work from home,” Zhang Yu Han said. ”Or we can try something else.”
Li Qin Yao sighed again.
Although she too was anxious to leave her daughter, she knew that this was something that she had to do. Even if she was not planning to return to work, a short separation with her daughter was something that she had to practice while her baby was still young. Separating from her baby when she was older would be much difficult.
Li Qin Yao lay her head on her husband's ċhėst. ”I can do this.” She has to be brave and do this for both of them.
Zhang Yu Han took the glass from her and put it on the table beside them. Then, he wrapped his arms around her body into a tight hug. Although he did not show much of what he was feeling in his expression, Zhang Yu Han too was worrying over the mother and daughter.
He had seen how his wife had often checked at her phone to see if Zhang Yu Ying would send her an urgent message. He saw how his daughter had cried her heart out upon seeing her mother again. Looking at the two girls that he loved dearly acting like this, how can he not have a heartache?
”That was only our first try. Li Xue will be alright after a few more times,” Li Qin Yao said. ”Anyway, she is our daughter. Of course, our Li Xue is a brave girl.”
Zhang Yu Han patted at his wife's back to coax her. He knew that the words she said were to persuade herself that their daughter will be alright. He then planted a kiss on her head and spoke, ”Alright. You should go and rest. When Li Xue wakes up later, she will look for you again.”
Li Qin Yao nodded weakly. It seemed that tomorrow, she will have to spend her time with the little princess and make up for leaving her briefly.
