Li Qin Yao woke up early in the morning and with her stomach grumbling. Her hand touched the space beside her and found that it was empty. The side where Zhang Yu Han slept had turned cold, telling her that he had woken up for quite some time.
After stretching up a bit, her nose picked up the delicious smell of food. Thinking that Auntie Su had come over to prepare breakfast for them, Li Qin Yao quickly went to the bathroom to clean up.
Once she headed over to the kitchen and was surprised that Auntie Su was not around, instead, Li Qin Yao found her husband in the kitchen, busying himself in front of the stove.
Li Qin Yao pulled at the chair in the dining area and sat down as she watched him preparing something in the kitchen.
As if he could sense someone was watching him, Zhang Yu Han turned around towards the table and his expression froze before it softened. Zhang Yu Han put down the wooden spoon on the side and turned off the stove.
Li Qin Yao propped her head with her right hand and rested her elbow on the table. Her eyes were staring back at Zhang Yu Han lazily. ”What are you making? Auntie Su did not come today?”
Zhang Yu Han walked over to her side and bent down to kiss her lips. ”Happy birthday.”
Her eyes widened upon hearing his words. Li Qin Yao tilted her head sideways and continued to stare at him.
”What?” Zhang Yu Han raised a brow. ”Don't tell me that you did not remember today is your birthday?”
Li Qin Yao shook her head. ”I don't remember.”
Zhang Yu Han let out a chuckle at the thought that his wife had become slightly muddle-headed since she was pregnant. Last night, when the clock struck twelve, Zhang Yu Han had wanted to be the first to wish her birthday. However, upon seeing how she was sleeping soundly, he did not have the heart to disturb her. Moreover, his wife was having difficulties recently.
”I asked Auntie Su to take a break today,” Zhang Yu Han said. ”Therefore, this morning, I'm in charge of breakfast. Later, let's go and have a meal with Grandfather and Yu Ying for dinner.”
”Un,” Li Qin Yao nodded. She wrapped her arms around his waist and leaned her head on his ċhėst.
Zhang Yu Han bent down to kiss the top of her head. ”Are you hungry? Wait for a while. I'll bring you breakfast.”
Li Qin Yao released her arms and watched as Zhang Yu Han entered the kitchen. A while later, he came back with two bowls of noodles.
”I followed the recipe that I found on the internet,” Zhang Yu Han said. He looked at her with a sheepishly and smiled. ”I don't know if it's going to taste good.” He passed her the chopsticks and watched as his wife took a mouthful of noodles. ”How was it?”
Li Qin Yao glanced at him and did not answer. Her hands moved as she continued to eat the noodles until her bowl was empty.
”Good?”
Li Qin Yao laughed upon seeing his anxious look. ”Un, it's good. One of the best noodles I've tasted so far.”
