Chapter 350 - A Token of My Apology (1/2)

Zhang Yu Han arrived at the door and paused before he turned to the side.

A figure walked out from the dark and stopped once her figure came to light. Nian Ting nodded to Zhang Yu Han stood there silently, waiting for his order.

”You can go back now,” he spoke.

Nian Ting nodded again before she disappeared into the shadow.

Once the woman disappeared, Zhang Yu Han eased up his guard and paused at the door to take a deep breath. His hand moved to touch the bell but then he stopped himself. After weighing his options, Zhang Yu Han took out his phone and dialed a number.

Xu Yilan was suddenly awake when her phone on the side chimed. She glanced at the screen with her eyes narrowed and answered the call. ”You're outside? Hold on. Mom will open the door for you.”

She then hung up the phone, tidied up herself, and wore a cardigan over her body before she walked towards the door. Seeing her tall son-in-law stood at the door, Xu Yilan smiled. ”You're here.”

Zhang Yu Han nodded his head. ”Mom, sorry for the trouble.”

Xu Yilan moved aside to let him enter. Her gaze fell on the pastel pink box in his hand and a smile curved on her lips. ”Is that for Yao Yao?” She watched him nodded and let out a helpless sigh. ”You don't have to spoil Yao Yao too much.”

Zhang Yu Han replied to her with a smile.

”This time it was Yao Yao's fault. Don't blame her too much. Knowing Yao Yao, running away and sulking is not what she would do,” she said and sigh. ”Yao Yao is pregnant and at this time, her mood and emotion were not too good. Just be patient with her.”

”En. I know,” Zhang Yu Han nodded. ”Mom, you should go back to bed. I will check on Qin Yao first.”

Xu Yilan hesitated as she recalled what she had gone through during her pregnancy with her daughter. Back then, she had lost her son and was in depression. Seeing the way her daughter acted, Xu Yilan was afraid that her daughter was going through something similar.

However, the words she wanted to say did not leave her lips. Looking at Zhang Yu Han's face, Xu Yilan had a feeling that he was going to figure out what to do.

After a while, Xu Yilan nodded. ”You go and look at her. Just talk to her nicely. I will go back to my room first.”

Zhang Yu Han watched as his mother-in-law entered her bedroom before he walked into his wife's room. A helpless sigh escaped him as he watched his wife's sleeping figure with a bunny plushy in her embrace. Zhang Yu Han put the pastel pink box on the table and walked over to her bed. He leaned forward and kissed her face. Then he combed her hair away from her face and froze.

His finger touched the corner of her eyes and Zhang Yu Han was surprised upon finding that it was wet.

He wondered if his wife really wanted to eat that chocolate cake that she started to cry. Suddenly, Zhang Yu Han was at loss at what he should do. Was he too strict with her?

Zhang Yu Han wiped the corner of her eyes with his thumb and kissed her on both eyes.

At first, he had wanted to wake her up to coax her. However, seeing her slow breathing, Zhang Yu Han found that he did not have the heart to disturb her.

After a while, Zhang Yu Han took off his coat and slid into bed. He hugged her from behind, letting her head rest on his ċhėst. His hand moved to rest on her stomach and he began to ċȧrėss it.

He leaned over to peek at her bulging stomach and whispered, ”Baby, please don't make your mother upset and make things difficult for me, alright?”

A thought crossed on her head and Li Qin Yao quickly turned around.
