Chapter 265 - Yao Yao, I’m Sorry (2/2)

Li Mu Bai answered her with a faint smile. He looked at the couple in front of him alternately and said, ”The last time we saw each other, I did not have the chance to congratulate you both for your marriage. Congratulations. I wish for you both to have a happy marriage.”

”Thank you,” Li Qin Yao's gaze softened.

”Yao Yao actually, I,” Li Mu Bai paused to swallow. ”I owe you an apology. On half of my mom, I wanted to apologize for what she had done. I know that what she did has caused you a lot of harm. I couldn't imagine what you might have felt. I—”

His words were left unfinished. Li Mu Bai thought that he had a lot of things he needed to apologize, but at this moment, he could not find the right words to say.

From the moment the news broke up and Li Mu Bai had learned of what his mother had done, Li Mu Bai had always wanted to meet with Li Qin Yao and apologize.

However, he was too embarrassed.

For the past few days, the two of them had a few encounters. Li Mu Bai had wanted to walk up to her to say the words but found that he was unable to.

He did not have the courage to apologize. Li Mu Bai was afraid that this cousin of his was going to blame him.

Back then, he was among the people who had suspected that Li Qin Yao indeed did something as terrible as allowing the use of cheap materials.

On the day that Li Qin Yao was supposed to present the evidence of her innocence in front of the shareholders, Li Mu Bai could still remember the way she had looked at him accusingly.

Was that why she would sometimes hint for him not to look into the matters anymore?

Through his investigation after Li Qin Yao had left the company, Li Mu Bai found out a few things that did not add up. It was then that Li Ming Han had come to him and said something that made him realized that pulling a cheap trick and harming a person's life was something that Li Qin Yao would not do.

Li Mu Bai lifted his head and noticed the way Zhang Yu Han was looking at him. That piercing gaze was threatening him not to think of pulling anything that will harm Li Qin Yao.

”Don't misunderstand,” Li Mu Bai continued. ”I am not saying these things so that you will forgive my mother or suggesting you to drop the case. My mother did something wrong and it was only right for her to be punished.”

His father was a soldier. With his teaching, Li Mu Bai still knew how to differentiate what was right and what was wrong.

His mother said she was doing everything to help him win that position. Since he was the cause of his mother's wrongdoing, of course, it was only right for him to receive his part of the punishment.

”Yao Yao,” Li Mu Bai took a deep breath and continued, ”I'm sorry.”
