”I also told you to make it fast. I saw that you wanted to talk to Nan Feng. Why would I want to stay around.” Li Qin Yao stared at Li Mu Chen's hand on her arm and frowned. ”What do you want?”
”Yao Yao…”
Li Qin Yao suddenly shivered at the way Li Mu Chen called her name intimately. She rubbed her arms and took a step back.
”You should tell grandfather that you want me to ȧssist you in that project in B City,” Li Mu Chen said.
Li Qin Yao stared at her in disbelief. Li Mu Chen must be crazy if she thought that she will allow Li Mu Chen to get close to her and her project. ”But I don't want you to ȧssist me. I have enough help and staff.”
”You know how grandfather likes it when we cousins working together,” Li Mu Chen tugged at her arms again when that Li Qin Yao was trying to leave. ”You know that I'm new in this business. Was it bad for you to teach me a thing or two? Yao Yao, I would love to learn from you!”
Li Qin Yao frowned at Li Mu Chen's sudden enthusiasm. ”I'll think about it,” she spoke after a few seconds.
Li Mu Chen's face brightened up. ”Really?”
”Hmm,” Li Qin Yao forced a smile. Then she swiftly walked around Li Mu Chen and quickly knocked on her grandfather's door. Anyway, she was too lazy to deal with Li Mu Chen and that was the only way to get rid of her quickly. Besides, she only told Li Mu Chen that she was going to think about it, and had not agreed on anything.
Li Qin Yao walked into her grandfather's office and found both Liang Sheng and her cousin, Li Mu Bai inside.
”Grandfather,” Li Qin Yao greeted her grandfather and took a seat on the couch to join in their conversation.
After the briefing ended, Li Ren Xin sent the others out and let Li Qin Yao stay around. Seeing that her grandfather had something to say to her, Li Qin Yao then chose to sit down.
”Will you be staying here?” Li Ren Xin spoke. ”Your grandmother missed you.”
”No. This time, I'm staying over at a hotel,” Li Qin Yao said. ”My mother is in the city to visit her friends.”
Li Ren Xin paused. He cleared his throat and said, ”Then, at least stay around and have lunch together. Your grandmother is cooking a feast.” He lowered his gaze for a second and lifted his face to look at her granddaughter with a complicated gaze. ”Will your mother attend Ming Han's wedding?”
”She's not.”
Li Ren Xin heaved a heavy sigh. How many years have passed since they have seen each other? The last time Li Ren Xin had seen Li Qin Yao's mother was a day before the divorce.
”Yao Yao,” he hesitated. ”If it's possible, could you arrange a meeting for me and your mother?”
Li Qin Yao bit her lips. She knew how much her mother wanted to avoid meeting her paternal grandparents. However, as she looked into her grandfather's eyes, Li Qin Yao was reluctant to reject it. ”My mother and I are planning to visit father tomorrow morning,” she said.
Li Ren Xin's eyes brightened at his granddaughter's hint.
