Chapter 166 - Acting like a Proper Neighbor (1/2)

Han Yue Xiu was staring at the grocery list in her hand, wondering if she knew any of those ingredients. Mother Han was preparing to cook in the kitchen and her father went out to his office for an emergency. Therefore, the task to go out for groceries fell into her hand.

Han Yue Xiu pushed the buŧŧon and waited. Meanwhile, she took out her phone to search look at the items that her mother had written down on the list.

After a few seconds, there was a ringing sound and the elevator door opened.

Once she saw the familiar guy, walking out of the elevator, Han Yue Xiu instinctively made a fighting pose.

”What are you doing?” Song Yi raised a brow as he walked out of the elevator.

Looking at how this girl was acting, Song Yi did not know whether he wanted to get angry or to laugh. He knew that Han Yue Xiu was constantly on guard against him, but he did not expect that she would treat him as if he was a hooligan.

But still… Song Yi found that this part of her was rather cute. Suddenly, he had this urge to pinch both of her cheeks and make a mess of her hair. Maybe then she would look less adorable.

”Nothing,” Han Yue Xiu quickly recover herself. She cleared up her throat and tried to walk pass Song Yi to enter the elevator.

”Han Yue Xiu,” Just as the door was about to close, Song Yi called out her name and held the elevator door.

”What?” Han Yue Xiu was on guard again.

”I'm going back. I have booked a flight ticket tonight.”

”Oh,” Han Yue Xiu responded. ”You… you're not coming back to S Country, right?”

Song Yi gave her a faint smile. ”Since you're not planning to stay here, then I don't have a reason to stay.”

Han Yue Xiu half regretted that she had asked him that question.

”Are you happy?”

”You can go wherever you want, it's none of my concern,” Han Yue Xiu rolled her eyes. ”Then, what about your house? You just bought it, right?”

”It's fine,” Song Yi chuckled. ”I'll just take it as an investment.”

”Well,” Han Yue Xiu stared at Song Yi's hand on the elevator door. ”I need to get some groceries. My mom would nag if I took too long to come back with that bottle of soy sauce.”

Song Yi let out a disappointed sigh as he let down his hand. This was the most decent conversation that they shared recently. Unfortunately, this moment ended too soon.

However, just before the elevator door could close again, Song Yi put his hand back at the door. ”Han Yue Xiu, when you come back and you need a job, you can always find me, alright? That offer that I gave you the other day will be open for as long as I live.”

Wasn't his words were too exaggerating?

”You have to think it over,” Song Yi said as he released his hand from the elevator again. ”Han Yue Xiu, I'll wait for you.”

The elevator door finally closed and started to descend slowly
