Chapter 151 - A Surprise Visit (1/2)
Back in Y City,
Li Qin Yao was seen walking out of Han Yue Xiu's apartment. She grabbed a taxi, gave her destination to the driver and gave Han Yue Xiu a call.
Once the call was connected, the two friends exchanged a brief greeting before Li Qin Yao reported that she had done what Han Yue Xiu asked her to do.
”Yao Yao, thank you,” Han Yue Xiu said. ”When I return, I'll treat you something delicious.”
Li Qin Yao laughed as she was reminded of the few times where Han Yue Xiu wanted to treat her to a meal, but in the end, something would happen in Han Yue Xiu's end.
”When are you planning to return?”
”Probably after the Mid-Autumn Festival.”
”Right,” Li Qin Yao spoke as she recalled something. ”Yue Xiu, when I picked up your stuff from the company, I heard from the others that your former boss, Song Yi had sold the company. Do you know about this?”
There was a long silence in Han Yue Xiu's part. ”No,” she spoke in almost a whisper. She cleared her throat and spoke again. ”Anyway, I haven't seen that man around for a few weeks.”
Han Yue Xiu frowned. The last time she had seen Song Yi, she had told him not to disturb her again and he had obediently disappeared from her life.
The two friends continued to chat until the taxi reached to The Orchid, a luxury hotel belong to Zhang's group. Li Qin Yao paid for her fare and entered the building.
Once the bellboy noticed her, his eyes widened and he hurriedly helped to open the door with a polite smile. He gave a signal to the girl who sat behind the counter and that girl immediately rushed to help Li Qin Yao find her way to the Director's office.
Li Qin Yao watched the girl speechlessly.
Was this appropriate? Shouldn't she asked if she had made an appointment with their Director before she let her into the elevator? Was the security around the hotel was that bad?
Soon, the news that the Director's girlfriend had come to visit the hotel spread like wildfire among the employees. Some of them left their desk for a while to peek at the Director's legendary girlfriend.
When Li Qin Yao arrived at Zhang Yu Han's floor, Secretary Tian was already waiting for her in front of the elevator. Li Qin Yao stepped out and smiled.
”Is Director Zhang's here?”
”He's in the office,” Secretary Tian said as she led Li Qin Yao to Zhang Yu Han's office. ”Assistant Huo had told me that you would be coming to visit today. But Miss Li, don't worry. I did not say a word to Director Zhang.”
Li Qin Yao smiled. ”Thank you, Secretary Tian. Right. I don't know if it was just me, but why do I feel as if everyone here was looking at me strangely?”
Secretary Tian laughed. ”I hope you wouldn't mind them too much, Miss Li. They were simply curious.”
”Curious? Of what?”
”Of you, of course.” Secretary Tian saw the surprised in Li Qin Yao's face and quickly explained. ”It was rare for us to see Director Zhang with a woman. Since the last time you came here, news that Director Zhang's girlfriend came to visit the hotel had spread among the employees.”
