Chapter 81 - Volunteered To Come With Her (1/2)
Li Qin Yao stared at her trembling hands before she looked out the window, as she prayed that they will arrive at the hospital soon.
Just a while ago, she was still queuing at the Fujian cuisine restaurant to meet up with her best friend, Han Yue Xiu, while chatting with the Zhang's when suddenly she received a call from Han Yue Xiu who then told her that she was at the hospital after she encountered a snatcher thief on her way to the restaurant.
Because Han Yue Xiu was holding on to her purse tightly, the thief had resulted in violence, and Han Yue Xiu was injured. The thief then escaped after he got what he wanted and escaped. Fortunately, there was a group of teenagers who walked pass by and helped her to the hospital.
When Li Qin Yao first heard of the news that Han Yue Xiu was injured, her mind had suddenly turned blank and for a few seconds, she did not know what to do. Then, she came to her senses and excused herself from Zhang's family to go to her friend's side.
It was then that Zhang Yu Han had stopped her.
Apparently, the Zhang had overheard bits of her conversation with Han Yue Xiu and was worried when they heard that she was going to drive to the hospital. Hearing that, Zhang Yu Han had volunteered to come with her, and after Zhang Jing and Zhang Yu Ying's persuasion, Li Qin Yao finally agreed to let Zhang Yu Han come along.
If only she had insisted on picking up Han Yue Xiu at her apartment instead of agreeing to meet at the restaurant, then, Han Yue Xiu would not get into this accident.
Li Qin Yao was consumed with guilt and regrets. She stared at her trembling hands and knew that without Zhang Yu Han, she probably would not be able to drive properly as she was too worried about her friend.
Fortunately, she was not too stubborn and had let Zhang Yu Han drive her car for her. At her current state now, it was not suitable for her to drive.
With that thought, Li Qin Yao turned to the man who sat at the driver seat with a look of gratitude. Although that man's side profile looks very handsome right now, Li Qin Yao did not have the time to appreciate his look due to her worry.
”Everything will be alright,” Zhang Yu Han spoke. He glanced at Li Qin Yao before he focused on the road. Zhang Yu Han has been watching the girl through his peripheral vision and noticed her shaky legs and trembling hands.
”Yes.” Li Qin Yao nodded absentmindedly.
”Your friend is already brought in to the hospital and had received the treatment. She will be alright. Just take a deep breath.”
Hearing Zhang Yu Han's deep vibrating voice, Li Qin Yao felt a bit calmer. After inhaling a deep breath, the trembling in her hands had stopped. Li Qin Yao glanced at the man beside her again and gave him a weak smile. ”Mister Zhang. Thank you for accompanying me.”
”You don't have to be so polite. After all, we are friends, right?” He glanced at her with a reassuring smile. ”Besides, my grandfather and I would be worried if we let you go alone.”
Li Qin Yao nodded again. ”Thank you.”
Zhang Yu Han could only sigh at her words. However, he also knew that Li Qin Yao was too worried about her friend that she could not think of anything else. Thus, he can only drive to the hospital silently.
Once they arrived at the hospital, Zhang Yu Han stopped near the entrance and turned to look at Li Qin Yao. ”You should go first and look for your friend. I will come over to you once I find a parking spot. You have my number, right?” Once he saw her nodded, Zhang Yu Han smiled at her. ”Go.”
