186 Chapter 186: Look for your happiness (1/2)

”Well, it looks like someone had a very good time”

Hazel halted in her steps. She looked up and saw Jinha casually leaning against a pillar waiting for her. He smirked at her making her squint her eyes.

Approaching him, she asked, ”What are you doing here?”

”Waiting for someone” he winked at her

Hazel shook her head as she walked past him. Jinha followed her quietly as they passed through the corridors.

After what seemed like minutes, he asked, ”So?”

Hazel hummed in response making him smile.

”Things are good, I presume?”

Hazel turned her head at him and smiled widely making his lips twitch. Seeing the smile on her face, he didn't need anything more.

Jinha moved his gaze away from her and gazed outside towards the garden. He sighed as he softly said, ”I'm happy for you, Freya”

Hazel stopped in her tracks and glanced at him.

Jinha smiled widely, ”I'm glad you are moving on from the past”

Hazel smiled. Her mind drifting to his face, his gaze filled with love.

”I'm glad that I did as well.” or she would have missed him in this lifetime.

Jinha raised his eyebrow as he teased, ”Woah! someone is showing off her happiness now”

Hazel stuck her tongue out, ”Why shouldn't I?”

Jinha narrowed his eyes at her making her laugh loudly.

He sighed in relief. How long has it been? When was the last time he saw her laugh so childishly?

At a young age, she was forced to mature early. All because she made one mistake, one mistake which made her pay the price.

Her entire childhood.

The times where she laughed freely slowly changed to indifference. She had to create another identity to become strong. The times where she used to bounce in her walk changed to a poised walk.

Slowly, she had become a shell in front of their eyes. Seeing her smile brightly now, made everyone's heart happy. Even though they didn't say anything, Jinha was sure the King and Queen were most grateful to Usui.

He ruffled her hair making her complain loudly. Seeing her pat her hair, he chuckled. Slowly he walked forward and hugged her tightly. He was happy that he could protect her till she belonged to someone.

Hazel was startled when he suddenly hugged her but her eyes softened as she wrapped her hands around him. She felt him bury his face in her shoulders and mumble, ”I'm here for you always.”

Hazel pursed her lips. Why was she dense before? Why didn't she notice the sadness around her before? Why didn't she notice their sacrifices?

As she paved her way forward, she kept hearing news of her enemies. Finally, she acted when she had taken over her general post after two years of hard work. After successfully demolishing the guild, she was on her way back home when she came across a desolate boy sitting on the ground with soil marred on his clothes and face.

Something stirred within her when she saw his lifeless eyes. It reminded her of her younger self. Not being able to ignore him, she brought him with her and gave him another chance at life. Her only joy each day was when she saw life returning to his eyes.

Soon, they became pillars for each other. They grew closer as they fought battles, ate food together and slowly her life changed. When the rest of the thunder squad members entered her life, her life began to shape up for the best.

Years passed, and yet nothing changed. He still valued her above everything else.

Hazel furrowed her brows when she noticed some movement from the corner of her eyes. She quickly glanced in the direction and saw no one but found something interesting on the ground.

Sigh!

That's right, he still valued her above everything else including him. Shaking her head, she pulled back from the hug making Jinha frown. He quickly looked around and commented, ”He isn't here”

”Huh?” Hazel looked confused for a minute before realization hit her. This guy was making fun of her Usui.

Puffing up her cheeks, she glared at him making Jinha chuckle.

”Okay..okay.” Raising his hands to his side, he made a peaceful gesture.

Hazel smiled, ”Thank you for always being there for me, Jinha”

Jinha looked at Hazel for a minute before his countenance changed, ”If he ever hurts you, Freya, let me know. I don't care how important you see him as but if he ever hurts you, even a little, I will cut his head off.”

Hazel looked at him amusedly. From the corner of her eyes, she saw the figure hiding behind the pillar, stiffen. Somewhere along the line, Jinha had forgotten to search for his happiness while looking for hers.

Hazel looked at her support, her companion, and said, ”Thank you for searching for my happiness”

Jinha smiled but then quickly frowned when he heard her say, ”It's time you search for your own.”
