Chapter 115 - Crossing The Endless Mist (V) (1/2)
After slaughtering the fleeing members of the Eye, Shad did not waste any time as he quickly returned to meet with the others.
When he returned to their campsite, Drake and the others just happened to be back as well. They all looked tired and and little pale as they went through a huge battle. However, when they saw Shad return unscathed, they all had an expression of disbelief on their faces.
They've already heard everything from Klaus. How Shad had chased after the fleeing attackers within the endless mist by himself and slaughtered them all one by one. They utterly couldn't believe that he'd just experienced a bloody battle because he looked just fine without a scratch on him.
A few seconds later, a burly middle-aged appeared and stood behind Shad like a bodyguard. With a single glance, Florence and Klaus had quickly recognized that middle-aged man because he was none other the leader of the group of people that had just ambushed them earlier.
Their eyes narrowed a little when they saw this man following Shad as though he was his servant. However, when they saw the lifeless look on his eyes, Klaus and Florence seemed to have become aware of something as they both simultaneously shot their gazes at Shad with a shocked and a surprised expression on their faces.
Ignoring the stunned expression on their faces, Shad quickly spoke with a solemn expression on his face.” I have both a bad and a good news for you guys.”
” The good news is that I have already taken care of the fleeing members of the Eye, which means they won't bother us anymore untill we reached the Tower. The bad news is that the Progenitor of the Eye himself is currently inside the Tower searching for the treasures left by Henry followed by a group elite members of the Eye”
As soon as they heard this, they instantly became pale. Their eyes and mouths were frozen wide open in an expression shocked. Their faces washed blank with confusion like their brains cogs couldn't turn fast enough to process that kind of information. Every muscle on their bodies just froze.
How can this be?
Who was the progenitor of the Eye?
He was an old monster that none of the 9th rank experts within the continent dared to face alone unless they had no choice. No one had never seen his face as he always wore a mask and he also barely left his base.
He's considered as the highest existence and also the oldest existence within the continent. His true strength was not something that the other 9th rank experts could even dare to fathom. Even though they were all 9th rank experts, there was a clear disparity between their actual strength and their combat prowess.
It is said that the progenitor of the Eye was halfway from breaking through the legendary Archmage rank, but because of his innate talent, he couldn't take that last step in becoming a transcendent being.
So , for an existence like the progenitor of the Eye to personally enter the Tower to look for the treasures left by Henry, was something that was beyond their imaginations. Their task or their mission has suddenly become a hundred times harder because they' ll have to compete against someone that not even their ancestors were confident in defeating.
