Chapter 65 - Divine Punishment (I) (1/2)

Looking at the sky that had been blotted out by the sheer number of weapons, Mark couldn't help but feel a little pressure.

The hundreds of arrows along with hundreds of spears carried the might to besiege an entire city. Yet, they used this kind of attack to kill a hundred people. This alone showed how determined the enemy was to bury the 4th imperial prince along with them.

Mark had already known that there were more people hiding behind the trees in the mountains that encompassed both side of the valley, which was why he tried to finish the first waves of enemies as soon as possible to draw out the rest, but he never thought that they would use this kind of long-range attack.

Furthermore, these people weren't weaklings either. Facing an army of more than four hundred warriors with only a hundred warriors wasn't an easy matter. Even though he had the assurance to come out unscathed from this battle, but the same couldn't be said for the regular members of the Lightning Corps.

At this moment, he couldn't be worried about his companions due to this large scale of aerial attack. It was every man for himself. Furthermore, the 4th imperial prince wasn't inside the carriage, so that was one less thing to worry about.

Even though he was an apeak 6th rank warrior, if he doesn't concentrate on dodging and blocking the incoming arrows along with the spears that were coming straight at him, he will be nailed down onto the ground.

Not only Mark, the other three imperial knights along with the members of the Lightning Corps had a serious look on their faces as well. Facing this kind of large-scale aerial attack, they didn't dare to relax because the slightest mistake could cost them their lives.

In the meantime, The hundreds of arrows and spears were like a down-pouring rain. They gave off a whistle sound as though they were cutting through space.

The hundred of lightning Corps as well the four imperial knights had their weapons ready as they were looking at the trajectory of the incoming attacks, ready to dodge and block them.

As for the Mountain tigers survivor, they had a look of horror on their faces as they were looking at the sky. They didn't expect that not only their ally didn't even bother to come in their aid but wanted to bury them along with the enemy as well.

The hundreds of arrows and spears dove down from the sky along with an incomparably sharp sense of power and shrill roars. Some member of the mountain tigers raised their shields in a flurry, attempting to block those arrows and spears from piercing their bodies.

However, their scrappy metal shields were as fragile as pieces of papers under the power of the arrows and spears. In a short time, screams echoed through the valley and a storm of blood exploded as the hundred of arrows and spears penetrated their throats and harvesting their lives. Blood ceaselessly squirted out from their wounds.

The rest of the mountain tigers that luckily survived the attack of the Lightning Corps has vanished from the face of the earth after this single attack. The whole valley of death looked like an ocean of blood like someone splashing ink into a picture frame.

As for the Lightning Corps members, even though none of them died during this attack, but some of them were gravely injured as some of the arrows pierced throughtheir shoulders and legs.

The only people that came out unscathed during this attack were the four imperial knights, as 6th rank warriors they were able to block and dodged most of the attacks. Especially for Mark, he was able to cut down every single spears and arrow that came his way with his heavy long sword.

As he was blocking the spears with his sword, fiery sparks were flying everywhere as he slammed his sword against them. The sparks fell like a meteor shower around him.

After the four imperial knights, as well as the Lightning Corps, survived the first waves of attack, they breathed a sigh of relief. However, soon, They saw the four hundred men in black were getting ready to launch a second wave of attack.

Seeing this, no matter how fearless they were, they started to feel a hint of fear in their heart. If the enemy was to attack them head-on, they had the confidence to take them on but if they stayed on top of the mountain and started to shoot arrows and spears at them continuously, it would be a huge problem for them.

Even though they might not be able to kill all of them, some of them would still die which will reduce their overall strength. Aside from that, they will be worn out by continuously dodging and blocking more than a hundred arrows and spears after a certain amount of time.

Their only chance was to attack the enemy head on, but they were on both side of the valley. They would have to divide their troops into two groups in order to attack the enemy simultaneously.
