She held the large phone in her hands with her small meaty hands and dialed a number before putting it near her ear.
After a few beeps, Tuantuan shouted with her childish voice into the phone, “Baba Baddie, is that you?”
The little girl was beginning to grow out her adult teeth during that period so air would leak through her lost teeth when she spoke and her pronunciation wasn’t so clear. She managed to turn “Papa” into “Baba” because of that.
“Huh? Tuantuan.”
Lu Ting was going through his documents when he received the call. He held his phone up to his ears on his shoulder while he flipped through the papers, signing them.
The little girl covered the mic with a small chubby hand and whispered, “Papa, Mama seems very touched, she’s crying like a monkey.”
Lu Ting laughed. “Really?”
The little girl nodded heavily before speaking as seriously as she could, “Ya, Mama is super moved. Papa, can you come to the hospital to sleep with Mama and Tuantuan in the future? You two already have Tuantuan, it’s not right to not sleep together, right?”
“That’s right.”
Lu Ting gave her a casual reply but he quickly realized what she said. He laughed and said, “Tuantuan, me and your Mama aren’t a legal couple yet so we can’t sleep together. Don’t worry, Papa will openly pursue your Mama and get her back to his side. Then we will be reunited as a family again. Wait for Papa, okay?”
Tuantuan pouted her little mouth and spoke with a bit of sadness in her voice. “Then, can Papa visit Tuantuan often in the future to cook met for Tuantuan? You said you would give Tuantuan the best meat in the world…”
Blood was thicker than water, and as soon as the young girl called him Papa, his heart melted.
Lu Ting even wanted to take her into his arms through his phone and give her a soft pat on the head.
Lu Ting promised her, “Papa will bring you out this weekend so you can eat meat, okay?”
“Okay!” Tuantuan raised up her pinky in the air and said, “Pinky swear! Whoever breaks the promise is a turtle!”
