Chapter 9 - Sound (1/2)

“Why didn’t you do it?”

At night, the stars around the moon shone brightly, Nan Xueqing lightly sat on a long bench and gently stroked the grey cat next to her.

The gray cat squinted its eyes and turned over comfortably, but the two legs behind it suddenly kicked up in the air a few times.

“Meow-“

The sound was a little sharp, then slowly weakened.

“Meow,” the small body didn’t dare to move, looking at Nan Xueqing with a hint of fear in her eyes.

“You disobeyed.” The voice was still soft.

“Meow meow meow.”

The gray cat kept screaming as if trying to explain something, but Nan Xueqing got up to leave.

The gray cat immediately jumped off the bench and tried to follow.

“Don’t show up as of late, I don’t like disobedient pets.”

Nan Xueqing’s eyes were indifferent.

The grey cat cringed, one paw trying to take a tentative step forward, but the look in the other’s eyes made him retreat right back.

“Meow-” cried out in aggravation, but could only watch as the other left.

The gray cat instantly wilted.

As it prepared to return to its playhouse, a ghostly figure made it not poke its little head out, “Meow-“

“Bang” the sound of a chair being hit.

Zhang Hua’s entire body was momentarily startled until she saw that it was a grey kitten.

Looking towards the locker in the classroom that belonged to Lin Siyi, she squeezed the thing in her hand and gathered the courage to walk forward, “Don’t blame me, if you want to blame someone blame it on yourself for being too much of a bully.”

After doing all this, she looked down at the little gray cat that was still in the same place with its head tilted, with tears shining, she bent down and hugged the gray cat into her arms, “Were you also bullied, why is your neck bleeding.”

The gray cat’s ears moved and lifted one of its small feet to scratch its neck, but it was immediately stopped by Zhang Hua, “Don’t move, it’s going to hurt.”

“An animal’s organs aren’t quite the same as a human’s and I’m stupid, so I can’t treat you right away.”

“But it’s okay, I’ll take you back to the dormitory now, As long as I compare the contents of the book, I’ll make sure you heal.”

Zhang Hua spoke with her steps becoming faster, her eyes eager and seemingly with some excitement.

“Meow-” the grey cat shrank in the other’s arms and closed its eyes somewhat sleepily.

In the dormitory building, as soon as Lin Siyi heard footsteps in the corridor, she immediately opened the door, but no one was there.

“???”

What’s going on? Is this place haunted?

She scratched her head, it was almost nine o’clock now, why hadn’t her roommate returned yet. She was alone in the big dormitory, it was inevitably a bit lonely.

Lin Siyi went to the table, it was filled with books, all of which she forcibly took Lin Chuliu’s library card when she returned and dragged him to the library to borrow.

There were ones about the academy’s introduction, ones about ghosts and magic classes, and ones about this world.

Only a quarter of it gave Lin Siyi an incomplete understanding of this world and the original owner was often skipping classes. What she knew was too disorganized and she needed to sort it out.

Element Academy, was the name of this school.

It had three courtyards, in Institution A, the people tend to be offensive in their magic.

In Institution B, on the other hand, it was the support class, such as the healers that the original owner and the others learned. The array masters with a bit of offensive power, the clairvoyant that belonged to the organ mutation magic class, etc.. There was all kinds of chaos, only what you couldn’t think of that it didn’t have.

As for Institution C, it covered the smallest area in the academy and was in the most remote region, so it was often overlooked.

The magic that the people of the C courtyard possess is the ability to transmute ghosts and overtake them, commonly known as the Soul Diversionist, using Lin Siyi’s understanding of the Yin-Yang category.

This is why the academy has the Soul Diversion Institute and the Pure Soul Temple.

It was because the academy was required to complete their studies to purify the evil ghosts inside so that they could enter the Temple of Pure Souls, unravel their hearts, and finally enter the cycle of reincarnation.

But the evil ghosts were ferocious, and many people would be seriously injured or even devoured upon contact.

Therefore, many people with the talent for transcending souls would rather be frightened by ghosts in the world than enter the academy.

In addition, many people in other courtyards don’t like to deal with people in C courtyard.

It might be because they were able to communicate with ghosts so it gave them the impression that they were haunted, crazy, and just very abnormal.

So whenever the three house members start to team up, most people don’t want to take the C-house.

But the good thing was that there was a mandatory requirement in the academy that there had to be a soul diversionist and two auxiliary teachers in the team.

Lin Siyi was lying on the table, staring at the alarm clock next to her, ticking.

In fact, this world still has the same place as her world, that is, most of the ordinary people.

Some people didn’t even know that magic existed in this world.

How to say it, this place is similar to the world of Harry Potter, there are places where normal people live and places where there are full of magic.

By forming a team and completing the requirements of the academy, you can leave this place, and then return to the place where normal people live and begin to free yourself from the protection of the academy.

The results are finally turned in and you can graduate if you pass.

After graduation, one could choose to remain in the academy or return to their home.

Lin Siyi put the books on her desk away and then walked out of the dormitory.

The world is actually quite dangerous, and it’s scary to think that there are abnormal people hiding among normal people.

The Academy is to find these abnormal people and then protect them, teach them the abilities they control, and guide them to the right path so that they don’t go astray and use their magic to harm society.

To think that the founder of this academy had a pretty righteous starting point.
