Chapter 4 - Friend (1/2)
Chapter 4: Friend
“Xueqing, you’re so good, so kindhearted. I can’t believe I used to be so blind to good and bad as to target you. I was really an idiot. I apologize for what I did before.”
Nan Xueqing looked at Lin Siyi who was following beside her and tying a ponytail while mumbling. Her eyes slightly drooped. “Why are you apologizing?”
“Huh?” Lin Siyi promptly caught up to the other. “It’s because I was mean to you before, always targeting you.”
Nan Xueqing suddenly stopped walking. Lin Siyi swiftly halted, barely avoiding bumping into her.
“I was asking why you thought of apologizing.”
Lin Siyi looked at the female lead’s eyes. They were still gentle and smiling, but indescribably let her feel a sliver of chilliness.
“Naturally….naturally it’s….”
Seeing her saying ‘naturally’ for a while without actually saying anything, Nan Xueqing turned and continued walking forward.
Lin Siyi couldn’t help but smack her muddled head and jog to catch up.
“It’s obviously because of yesterday’s incident in the guidance office. You actually chose to believe me.”
“You know. Before I always thought of you as a rival, even as an enemy, but I hadn’t thought that, at a moment of life or death, you would actually choose to believe me. That really touched me.”
“That’s why I decided from today on, I won’t set myself against you again. Xueqing, you have to believe me.”
Not hearing the female lead’s response, Lin Siyi was a bit impatient. She ran in front of the female lead and made her stop.
She passionately took her hand, eyes sincere. “Xueqing, you’re so kindhearted. You definitely won’t bother about that stuff with me, right?”
Nan Xueqing was speechless, “……”
It looked like this person had grown some smarts. She knew how to use the word “kindhearted” to threaten her.
She showed a slight smile. “Of course not.”
Deliberately stopping, she saw that the other had a dumbfounded expression on her face. Her heart inexplicably felt better, a slight curve appearing on her lips. “Of course I won’t bother about that with you.”
Lin Siyi let out a sigh of relief. As she said, since Nan Xueqing was a holy mother female lead, there was no way she’d hold a grudge over small matters like those.
–
When they entered the B institute’s number 4 school building, the people who came and went in the hallway one after another sent them strange looks.
Lin Siyi took it as them envying her good relationship with the female lead. She didn’t pay any attention to their looks.
Her eyes revolved around her surroundings. She really hadn’t thought that one day she would actually see the setting described in the novel with her own eyes.
The A institute’s students were attack types. The buildings were basically built for stability, and there were the most training grounds. That was why it was far from the delicate beauty of the B institute.
Every single decorative design and the walls and floors were meticulously done. There were also all sorts of art works displayed in the hall, hundreds of different types. According to the original work’s descriptions, these were mostly student works.
The original owner and female lead were both support mages, specializing in healing.
In the support class, the most welcomed type was healing magic, but within a team, being a healing mage was also being the class with the least self-protection ability.
That was why many people would choose the single type among support classes with offensive power, formation magic, and become formation specialists.
As for why the female lead didn’t become a formation specialist, Lin Siyi didn’t know what the writer was thinking about.
The clamouring in front of them seemed to get louder and louder. Lin Siyi entered a classroom beside the female lead, and the people inside instantly quieted down.
Chen Xing was originally standing in the first row, chatting with someone. When she saw Lin Siyi enter, she immediately flung her head back and ran to her seat. That left Lin Siyi who originally wanted to greet her feeling extremely awkward.
“This is Lin Siyi? Why has she suddenly become so, uh,… fresh and pure?” Jiang Chun uh-ed to herself for a while but couldn’t use the word cute to describe someone like Lin Siyi.
“What fresh and pure? She’s always originally looked like this. It’s only that she didn’t put on makeup today.” Liang Jing’s eyes fell on Lin Siyi. She quietly said, “Although, why didn’t she put on makeup today? Did someone say something to her?”
Jiang Chun didn’t hear what Liang Jing said, still shocked that Lin Siyi would actually look like this without makeup.
This was like a completely different person from the usual arrogant and fierce Lin Siyi!
In fact, since she entered the school building, she had already started hearing many people talking about her appearance. She couldn’t help but click her tongue in admiration.
Thinking of when she saw herself earlier before she took off her makeup, it was true that even though she mentally prepared herself, she had still been frightened.
It wasn’t that the makeup was ugly, but rather it was very fierce!
A perfectly good baby face was actually drawn into something so fierce. Her eyebrows were drawn very thick, eyelines raised up. Even the color of her lipstick was very overbearing.
It let anyone who saw her feel that this wasn’t someone good to associate with.
Liang Jing tore out a piece of paper from her drawer and rolled it up into a ball, forcefully throwing it to the back corner.
Zhang Hua who was withdrawn in the corner immediately became tense. She saw the glance the other made toward her, her entire person scared to the point of shaking. But as if she was being chased by the grim reaper, even though she was very scared, she still shakily stood up.
Lin Siyi followed the original owner’s memories and found her seat. Just as she sat down, a female classmate walked up to her with eyes afraid and mixed with some surprise.
“Is there something wrong?”
Zhang Hua was a little distracted. The Lin Siyi from before had never spoken so lightly to her before.
She very hesitantly took out something from her pocket. As she handed it over to Lin Siyi, her face wrinkled together in extreme pain.
Lin Siyi took the thick pile that was wrapped in a white cloth. It seemed like paper. She curiously opened it.
