Chapter 2 - Fright (2/2)
The feeling of having a fridge in the dorm was really too wonderful.
After eating and drinking to her satisfaction, Lin Siyi directly laid down in her bed. She took a look at the bed across from her and wondered why her roommate still hadn’t returned.
Thinking and thinking, she fell asleep.
Spring was clearly almost over. Why was the wind at night still oddly cold?
Lin Siyi fumbled for the blankets next to her. Then she suddenly opened her eyes, frightened so she directly fell off the bed.
“Mrrow!” A grey kitten licked its claws.
Lin Siyi took a look at the balcony door. The outside wind blew and the curtains fluttered.
She couldn’t help but breathe out a sigh. It turned out that she had forgotten the balcony door, which let this cat come in.
Consequently, she borrowed the moonlight to look at the kitten before her. The kitten was tilting its head, diligently licking its claws. Its grey fur looked very soft.
She really couldn’t resist wanting to touch it. Of course, Lin Siyi didn’t resist, directly extending her hand to touch.
The grey kitten’s eyes stared at the extended hand, stopping its moments. Just as it gracefully took a step forward, Lin Siyi suddenly retracted her hand.
This was the sixth floor. There weren’t any trees outside either. How did this cat get in!?
“Meow!”
The docile and cute looking gray cat suddenly yelled. Its soft fur spiked up as if covered with electricity. The cat bared its fangs and pounced toward Lin Siyi.
Lin Siyi’s eyes widened, looking at the gray cat that had exposed its sharp claws. She got to her feet and wanted to run to the door.
Yet just as she turned, the gray cat’s figure appeared before her again like a ghost. It was even… having grown a pair of small wings, floating in midair, it was baring its teeth almost like… it was laughing??
Dang! She had actually forgotten that this was a fantasy world!!!
So wasn’t she trying to escape??
No!
“Help!”
Toward the gray cat that was pouncing toward her with exposed claws, Lin Siyi chose to yell for help without hesitation.
Then, one second passed. Two seconds passed. Three seconds passed……
Huh? Why didn’t anything hurt? Could it be that she had already died?
She felt a wet breath on her neck. Lin Siyi stealthily peeked open an eye and saw that the vicious gray cat was actually licking her neck.
Did… did it want to first slowly sample her and then bite and break her neck??
No, there was no way she could just die like this.
Lin Siyi, look at it properly. As long as you think of it as a normal cat, extend your hand to quickly grab the back of its neck, throw it out and close the door at the speed of light, it’ll be okay!
Lin Siyi desperately gave herself suggestions. Just as she decided to risk it, the dorm door was suddenly opened.
She saw clearly who came and immediately jumped up and ran over, shouting as if she had seen her savior.
“Xueqing, help me!! There’s a monster!!!!”
Nan Xueqing saw Lin Xiyi run over in a second, grab her waist, and hide behind her. Nan Xueqing’s body instantly went stiff.
Soon after, looking at the hands on her waist, her face went cold and she pried them off.
Lin Siyi, “???”
She doubtfully stuck out her head from behind Nan Xueqing. She just happened to meet the female lead’s tender eyes.
“What is it?” Her voice was so pleasant it let people become intoxicated.
Lin Siyi was somewhat absorbed in the other’s eyes, intoxicatedly pointing ahead. “There… there’s a cat. Huh, where’s the cat?”
Seeing it empty before her, Lin Siyi walked forward and carefully looked around, a little unconvinced. Then, she even took a look at the balcony.
Could it have already run away?
Seeing the female lead show a doubtful expression behind her, she embarrassedly laughed. Then, she silently closed the balcony door.
“Looks like it ran away. Just a moment ago, it was violently attacking me. Ah, I’m not talking about a normal cat. It was one that could fly and had lightning. It wasn’t a normal cat. Do… do you get it?”
Seeing the female lead nod her head, Lin Xiyi finally let out a breath of relief.
“That was a Cloud Cat. The A institute’s students raise quite a lot of them. I think it likely accidentally escaped over here.”
“So it was like that.” To think they were raising ‘mythological beasts.’ That was freaking scary.
“Yea.”
Nan Xueqing wanted to leave. Lin Siyi immediately called to her, “Hey, don’t leave! Sleep me with!”
Seeing the female lead show a strange expression, Lin Siyi knew that the other must have misunderstood.
“Don’t misunderstand. I don’t want to do some trick to deal with you. It’s just that, just now, that something cat really frightened me. You see my roommate isn’t here either. It would be better if you stayed and accompanied me?”
She was probing out.
After all, who knew when that lousy cat would come back. If the female lead was by her side, it would probably be safer.
“Okay.”
