Cedric carried Brione to his room and gently put her down on his bed. He sighed as he sat beside her and stared at her.

”Look at you, sleeping like a baby,” he whispered with a smile while caressing her hair lightly. He was about to get up and get her a change of clothes when he noticed a journal on his bedside table. It was probably one of Brione's journals.

It looked familiar to him though, so he grabbed it and decided to check it. He opened a page and started to read. He suddenly winced and felt his head aching before some fragments of memories flashed through his mind.

His body stiffened and his breathing became laboured. He stared at Brione for a short while and once he started to feel better he continued reading the journal.

Brione stirred a little in her sleep so he stopped reading and placed the journal aside to look at her.

As Brione opened her eyes slowly and met Cedric's gentle eyes. She smiled at him, raised her hand to cup his cheek, and gently caressed it. Cedric sat like a meek little puppy with his eyes closed and nuzzled his face against her hand, letting himself bask in Brione's warmth.

”What were you doing?” Brione whispered.

Cedric opened his eyes and answered, ”Reading Gavin's journal.”

Brione furrowed her eyebrows and turned towards the bedside table where Gavin's journal was placed. Berry probably placed it there since she always wanted it near her especially before she slept.

She flinched, and Cedric worriedly asked, ”Are you okay? Do you need anything? Are you sober enough to talk? Or still feeling dizzy? You passed out when you reached your drinking limit.”

He was about to get up to get her a glass of water when Brione held on to his wrist firmly.

”Where are you going?” Brione whispered hoarsely.

”To get you some water.”

”Stay here. I feel cold. Could you hug me, please?” Brione asked with her hazy eyes, which made Cedric groan inwardly. She was tempting him to pounce and attack her. He was unsure if he would be able to cool his fervor down like he had attempted when they were at the waterfall.

Brione pulled him down abruptly so he ended up on top of her.

”Are you sure about what you are asking, sweetheart? Or do you plan to torture me the whole night?” Cedric hoarsely uttered, supporting himself with his hands on either side of her so as to not crush her with his weight.

Brione smiled and cupped his face, her eyes glimmering with emotions. He hoped those eyes were sparkling for him and not because his face resembled Gavin's. He fully understood why Brione had kissed him the other day after he read about it in Gavin's journal.

Gavin was the only one she managed to kiss in all her life. And right now, he was sure that Brione still believed him to be Gavin because of their kiss. Nevertheless, he was sure that there was a simple scientific explanation for this. Like the probability of Brione letting her guard down because she thought that he was Gavin which might've allowed her to kiss him.
