Chapter 11:Not Your Breakfast (1/2)
Brione ignored his teasing. But inside her head, she was starting to compare Gavin's and Cedric's characters. Gavin was not this open when it came to teasing her but Cedric was.
'But a person's character is always unpredictable Brione,' her inner self reasoned.
She was so absorbed in her thoughts that it never occurred to her that they already reached the Palace. Upon feeling the eyes that were on them once they entered inside, Brione immediately whispered, ”You can put me down.”
”No!” Cedric declared and made his way directly to the elevator, not in the least bit bothered about the eyes on them. Once they were inside the elevator, Brione started struggling a bit.
”Stay still, we're almost there,” Cedric uttered, secretly enjoying their current position. Brione stopped when the elevator doors opened on the 3rd floor, thinking they would enter her room which was located there.
But to her surprise, Cedric walked past her door and stopped by the next door.
”This is not my room,” she said.
”Yeah, I know. This is my room,” Cedric plainly answered as he went inside.
Brione was in awe seeing the spacious room. It was almost as big as a house inside. Cedric put her down on the couch of his living area and said, ”Stay still, I'll go get the first-aid box.”
Brione no longer complained because she knew nothing would happen. Besides, the Prince was doing nothing to harm her so there was no need to exaggerate. It would be best to accept his hospitality especially now that she wanted to confirm his real identity. Now is not the time to be enemies with him. She has to get closer to him for her to find out the truth. To know if he was Gavin or she was just mistaken.
He did not take long and quickly bent down to check her knees. He cleaned up her knee and put an ointment on her wound. He also inspected her leg to make sure there was no major injury or a sprain.
”You're lucky that it's only a small wound. Keep this ointment, it will prevent scarring…” he said and handed the ointment to Brione.
”Thank you…” Brione whispered.
”Having breakfast with me would be a nice gesture of your gratitude rather than words,” Cedric said with a smile as he stood up and extended his hand to her.
When Brione looked at his hand, the memory of Gavin offering his hand to her just like this flashed before her eyes. She decisively raised her hand to accept Cedric's hand.
She was quiet as Cedric pulled her towards his enormous balcony where a scrumptious breakfast was spread out on the table. There were a few servants on the side who greeted both of them.
”Good morning Your Highness… Miss Brione…”
Brione nodded with a timid smile and pulled her hand from his after realizing he was still holding it. Cedric pulled a chair for her and she reluctantly took her seat.
