18 The Bridges Situation (1/2)

Takashi then went towards Kohta after having a blissful moment with Takagi just moments ago in a room.

Kohta is still focused on the guns they jacked from the closet, looking like they're his treasures. Takashi can't help but sigh and took the binoculars to zoom in on the situation at the bridge, which is getting louder and louder even if its already night time.

Kohta complained again about the girls in the bathroom being too noisy but Takashi said, ”its fine because the walkers react to noise and the noise coming from the bridge is way louder than the ones at the bathroom” he said as observes the bridge.

In the bridge, from atop of one of the police car there's a policeman there with a megaphone saying, ”get away from anyone dangerous, even if they're your family members”.

They're not your family once they get bitten because the virus is fast acting, lethal and without vaccine so its better to kill it fast before it turns into a walker and infect more people.

”I won't let anyone who's been attacked and injured here” repeated the policeman, then a reporter on the side is documenting the situation unfolding here at the bridge.

”A lockdown is in effect here at Western Tokonou City” said the female reporter as she tried her best to do her job despite the commotion and danger.

”However, as this pandemic spreads throughout the world, one in ten people are doubting the effectiveness of this lockdown” said the female reporter. With more and more people coming here at the bridge it causes disturbance and discomfort leading to panic which will eventually make the people think the consistency of this lockdown.

As the female reporter is doing her speech, more and more people are pleading with the police to let them in because they can't take it anymore and also they've began to use reasons such as they have a child, they're a female and many more but the police are tight so no matter what they say it have little to no effect.

”Those of us who are left behind due to lack of transportation to our offshore facility will continue to report on the current situation in Tokonou city through satellite communications” said the female reporter.

”What do you mean when you tell us to do whatever?” asked one of the police head on his radio. Not happy with the order the headquarters have given him because the stalemate here at the bridge won't hold for long and all they can say is do whatever?.

”What about the backup from the prefrectural headquarters?!” asked the police head. They can't hold this many people on their own, thus the need for the reinforcements coming from the prefecture.

But suddenly the radio went static, ”the communications were cut off?!” yelled the police head as he slammed the radio straight down the concrete smashing it to pieces.

”Sir, at this rate the barricade won't hold!” said one of the police officers as he reported the situation at the fence that needs immediate action.

”Well, that's a given” said the police head because without reinforcements and a proper chain of command the barricade here at Tokonou Bridge will fall in no time.

”We don't have enough people and some of the men here are just office workers” stated the police head because they're truly under staff at this critical moment that they've even resorted to putting the police officers that are normally working at the office only.

”But!” complained the police officer. ”We've received an order from above, we're permitted to do anything in order to maintain the barricade” said the police head.

”It seems they're not doing well over there too” said the police head because just from that lack luster command its enough for him to deduce that the headquarters also got their hands full.

”The last order that they've also received was to do whatever they could” said the police head. ”Then tell us what to do!” yelled the police officer because the order that they've received gives them complete freedom and that includes killing people to maintain order.

”Even if there are unharmed citizens over there, we're going to have to sacrifice them for the greater good!” proposed the police officer.

The police head is caught in a dilemma he can't escape from, ”our job is supposed to be protecting the citizens, damn it!” he said as he slammed the police car's window.

”It hasn't even been 1 week since all this began!” the police head said, because in just a span of less than one week it already made the world undergo crisis greater than the past epidemics like the black death.

At the house of Ms.Shizuka's friend, ”what the hell is this?” said Takashi as he saw people getting eaten by the walkers in the bridge using his binoculars.
