Chapter 52 - Conflict Arises! (2/2)
Someone started to clap slowly behind Bianca. Slow and deliberate, they were the sarcastic mocking kind. Bianca glanced behind her and saw Javier making his way towards her.
”What a soppy performance, wouldn't you say so Senri?” Javier looked at the girl with short purple hair. Her devilish eyes flashed with mischief.
”I do so agree Javier! I mean, what was that? The never-to-be love between a noble and commoner? Ah wait, did you want to be a princess? Would that mutt be your knight in shining armor, coming to your rescue? Ha ha!” Senri cackled at her own taunts. Bianca stared at them with indifference.
”And what business does a mere failure of the Klinn family want with me?” Senri flinched and involuntarily took a step back.
”W-what are you saying? How do you know that?” Senri had tried to hide the way her voice wavered but her stumble made it obvious. Bianca smirked. This girl, who was only from a knight family, tried to bark back at her? Bianca looked down at her clothes. Maybe her appearance was what gave Senri the courage to pick a fight with her. Rolling her shoulders, Bianca began to unbutton the front of her turtleneck dress off. Bianca pulled the dress open and slid her arms out. The dress fell in a pool around her feet.
At first the other kids in the room though Bianca had gone crazy but they were soon shocked in another way. Underneath her dress Bianca had been wearing a sleeveless turtleneck tank top and combat pants underneath the dress. Taking off her sandals and going barefoot, Bianca jumped up and down a little. Reaching into the left pocket of her black camo pants she pulled out a pair of fingerless gloves. She slipped her hands in and flexed them a little.
Using quick movements, Bianca carefully took off the ornaments on her hair and laid them on top of her dress. Taking out the pins to her bun, Bianca's sea foam green hair spilled around her shoulders.
Using a hair tie she pulled her hair up into a high ponytail.
When Bianca finished Senri had already taken a few more steps back.
”W-what's that look supposed to mean? Do you think an outfit change will do anything?” Senri was still backing away. Bianca stretched a bit before rushing towards Senri.
In three leaps, Bianca was already close to Senri. One fist balled up, the other aimed at Senri's wrist, Bianca and Senri collided. Bianca's knuckles dug deep into Senri's cheek. Her body would've fallen back if Bianca hadn't grabbed her other wrist an held her up. Rearing back Bianca prepared to launch another punch. Shaking and sobbing, Senri begged Bianca to stop.
”P-please stop! It hurts! It hurts! I-I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm-” Senri's pleads were stopped by another punch to the face. Merciless and cruel. That was how the other's saw Bianca. Beautiful but ruthless, a combination that really piqued Javier's interest. Senri was wailing now. Tears and snot littered her face. What was once cute was now red and swelling. The next punch hit Senri squarely in the jaw. Her teeth cutting the inside of her mouth. Senri flung her head back and tried to pull away from Bianca.
Bianca smiled.
”What's wrong? Not enough for you?” Bianca threw Senri's arm with such force that Senri spun before collapsing into Javier's arms.
During their one-sided fight Javier had weighted between who to choose. Senri who was a good informant and a bit twisted while easy to manipulate or Bianca who was strong with a noble backing and ruthless but didn't seem easy to manipulate. Having thought about it Javier decided to side with
Senri this time. He needed a reliable pawn early on.
When Javier caught Senri, Bianca stopped.
”What? Now you need another rat to defend yourself? Where's your previous vigor?” Javier stared at
Bianca silently before smirking.
”What does a baron family like yourself gain by tormenting a knight family?” Senri stirred slightly in Javier's arms but he pinched her shoulder. Yelping in surprise, Senri had mixed emotions in Javier's true intentions. ”See? She's in so much pain that a slight touch hurts.”
Bianca furrowed her brows. Javier, he was really a rat! Instead of addressing them individually Javier had opened it to their whole families. A baron family abusing a knight family would be the laughing stock for the whole area. If she continued to torment Senri her family's reputation would be tarnished.
Gritting her teeth Bianca reluctantly gave up on punching Senri.
”You should be more careful of what both of you say. Should Senri continue to provoke me, who knows what I will do. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have other things to do.” Bianca turned around and headed to the large note board she saw when she first entered the room. Javier called out after her.
”I do hope you don't stumble on your way Miss Bianca.” She eyed him but simply left without another word.
