Chapter 77: My Door Won’t Be Locked, You Don’t Have to go Through the Window (2/2)
Qian Jin wasn’t surprised by Fabreidis’s smile as he walked out. Qian Jin knew that if he asked Fabreidis to help him, Fabreidis would do it for the favor from when he bladewashed Skyreed Sword. However, Fabreidis would never think highly of him again.
There was an unwritten rule in the warrior’s world: a warrior had to take care of enmities by themselves. Warriors rarely asked for others’ help regarding these types of matters.
If a warrior didn’t put an end to this enmity and resentment alone, it would be passed down to the warrior’s kids or family members, or they would hire other powerful warriors to put an end to it. Warriors rarely asked others to help in these situations.
Once again, Qian Jin and Gomez Jane were the only ones in the winner cellar, sitting across from each other. It was so quiet in the room that even a pin could be heard when dropped on the floor.
Gomez Jane swirled the wine in her glass and then lifted up her chin and chugged it down. Under the weak candle light and moonlight, an indescribable seductive sensation diffused into the surroundings.
Bam! The empty glass landed on the table. Gomez Jane quietly spoke as she walked out of the cellar, “There are a few empty rooms on the second floor.”
“Oh, and one more thing.” Gomez Jane turned around as she stepped out of the cellar. She stared at Qian Jin and said lightly, “My room won’t be locked, so you don’t have to go through the window.”
Puff… Qian Jin spurted out all the red wine he had just poured into his mouth and looked at Gomez Jane who was walking away in her white silk pajamas with a stunned expression on his face.
“Such a simple and cold beauty said something like that?” Qian Jin sighed as he shook his head. He wiped the red wine off of the side of his mouth and thought, “As a man who has been flirted with by a woman, should I feel proud or ashamed?”
The candle light in the wine cellar flickered. Qian Jin looked at the moon outside of the window and lightly frowned. “Do I really have to sleep here tonight? What about the Endless World? I’m afraid to return to the academy after such a small event… what am I? Even if there are traps and ambushes outside, I can just run back here.”
“How could the streets of Oakland be more dangerous than the scary West Mountain?” Qian Jin opened the window and jumped into the courtyard from the second floor. After he looked around to make sure that there was no visible danger, he quickly rushed forward as he jumped up. He lifted his arms and grabbed onto the edge of the wall as he stomped on it to give himself a boost. He got over the high wall and landed on the street.
“Interesting.” Fabreidis stood in front of the window as he looked at Qian Jin who disappeared into the darkness with interest. If Qian Jin didn’t leave, Fabriedis would only consider Qian Jin to be a smart warrior, but since he left, he scored a few more bravery points in Fabreidis’ mind.
“Stupid,” Gomez Jane leaned against her window. A rare smile appeared on her face as she looked at her half-closed door. However, this smile gave off a pure and simple vibe.
A bat flew across the night sky, and it flew higher and higher towards the moon.
Qian Jin didn’t use the academy’s front door. He used the direct and simple method that he used to get past Fabreidis’ property on the academy’s wall.
Meditation was something that Qian Jin would never forget to do. Even though he knew that meditation served no purpose to him, he continued the habit that he developed many years ago.
“There is still nothing.” Qian Jin opened his eyes as he smiled bitterly; he wasn’t surprised. After getting zero results despite meditating every day for many years, he should have become accustomed to his disappointment, but he still felt it every time.
Warrior and mage dual training! It didn’t sound impressive, it was the goal for almost every warrior! Although it was unlikely that both warrior energy and magic energy would reach the peak when someone trained in both warrior and mage energy, during a battle with someone in the same warrior level, the one who trained in both energies would be at a huge advantage.
