*CLANG CLANG*
Ugh... what's with these noises? I checked what is happening and... yeah... I just remember what happened earlier. Did we just land on an island? I thought it would still take more than a week?
I stood up and looked around and I saw a lot of boulders, thousands of arrows and monsters' dead bodies around. I look at the back and there's a lot of injured members from both Glace and Two Teeth's teams while Akko and her team are trying to defend from the attacks of... holy sh*t that's a lot of walking lizards! Upon checking up the situation, it's like we're against an army of lizardmen and mostly warriors and defenders. They might not be suitable for using some magic spells of some sort.
”Scy! I'm sorry we're late! There are tons of Lizardmen on our ship that it took us a while to catch up. Is everyone ok here?” Elou asked.
”Don't ask me, I just woke up,” I replied while trying to check if I'm injured badly but it looks like I can still fight.
”What do you mean you just woke up?” Elou's confused... There's no time to explain.
”There are just too many of them. We need healers here. We tried our best to protect the ship and this is what happened.” Glace replied.
”Lili, help them regain their ability to fight with Lyra and Canace and the others, I will help them with our other members.” He ordered and then moved ahead while I'm also going there to help them. I can tell that I'm still not on my full potential but this will do.
”Two Teeth, what's the situation around here?” I asked as I can see that he's trying to handle three or four of the monsters.
”These monsters are not the problem here. Our spellcasters are the only ones who are stopping the projectiles from above like arrows and large boulders and we can't go forward because of these annoying lizardmen stopping our advance. We have to destroy those pesky catapults!” He reported and yeah, I can tell that the catapults are on the higher ground and all our spellcasters can't reach it even with their best spells.
”Don't worry, we always have a solution in this kind of situations. Elou, come here for a second.” I called for Elou.
”Hey, we seriously need to stop the attacks from afar. Our defense won't be able to keep up soon.” He said and I can tell that without him telling me.
”That's why I called you here. I know that you're the only one who has the attacks that can reach those catapults. From what I can see, there are seven giant catapults and I want you to destroy their throwing arms to disable them.” I explained.
”Man, that's nearly impossible to do. We just reached the shore and the distance of the catapults are way too far from us, not to mention, their location is on top of the mountain. You're asking for too much.” He replied.
”Just do it, if we can stop the catapults, our spell casters can finally stop defending from the attacks and we can push forward. Our ships will be in danger and everyone will die here.” I said trying to push the pressure on him.
”I was trying to save my best skills for later but I guess I don't have a choice but to use it now. Come on now, Garuda!” Elou closed his eyes and is just holding his bow. He's trying to concentrate his mana! I can feel his mana flowing!
”GARUDA'S BOW OF THE WIND!” His bow suddenly changed and the figure of it emits the same power like his monster soul!
”GARUDA'S ARROW OF WHIRLWIND!” He created an arrow just using his mana and then shot it towards one of the catapults!
*ZWOOOOOOSH!* He really shot it from this distance! Can he really reach the catapults with his attack?! His arrow flew so fast that it felt like it disappeared into thin air! Even trying to focus my mana enhancing my sight, I still can't see it!
*BAAAAAM* Found it! It hit the catapult! But nothing happened!
*GUST OF WIND SOUNDS* Huh?! The arrow exploded creating a massive wind shockwave pushing and destroying everything nearby!
”Ugh... I knew it. I still haven't mastered it yet. It still consumes a lot of mana just by creating this weapon...” What does he mean by that?
”I know you are wondering. Monster souls aren't just used to create better armor and weapons when you transform, they can also be used as just armor or weapon and by doing so, their strength will be even more powerful that move but you have to choose whether to choose defense or attack. In this situation, I choose the bow to fully enhance my attack but as you can see, I'm really defenseless and I'm having a hard time controlling its power.” Elou explained.
I can see that. With just using one attack, he destroyed three catapults and demolished the terrain but I can also say that he can't really move in this stance. He needs to cancel his monster soul if he wants to move. After that last attack, the spellcasters burden lessened. Some of them can now finally fight back helping the others from the front.
