Chapter 40 (1/2)

When Chen An and the group rushed to the battle stage, dazzling blue lights were streaking across the stage. Both Icicles River Carp and Zheng Qing were bursting forth with stronger powers than before.

The cold ice that had been buried for a millennium and the silence that had been slumbering for an endless time was beginning to crack at this point in time.

The ravine was as deep and dark as a giant python. Thin, hair-like cracks intersected everywhere like a ferocious centipede slithering with its dense legs and embracing the cold ice on the battle stage.

When Duan Pingchao was hit, the Berserker Wolf had already lost all of its combat ability and was drained of energy. It was sprawling in the corner of the battle stage and covered in wounds.

It spat a mouthful of fresh blood as it looked up. Duan Pingchao had lost miserably. He had fallen onto the bone-piercing cold ice, and the remaining bits of the ice from the cracks were still stabbing and torturing him endlessly.

“Chen An, this move was prepared for you. But I’ve run out of patience and gone slightly overboard. Sorry.” Zheng Qing spoke apologetic words, but he wore a frolic expression.

This was Cracking Icicles River, the Joint Combo that Zheng Qing had kept hidden for a long time! It had such a shocking effect when used!

He looked up. “Now, who else dares to doubt my powers?”

This was the second time that he had challenged Chen An on the ranking battle stage.

Unlike the last time, everyone knew that Chen An had no means to victory after witnessing the Cracking Icicles River.

They had been looking forward to this!

“Chen An, you have avoided this for a long time. Do you dare to fight him?” Everyone was clamoring. They could not wait to see Chen An lose and teach him a hard lesson not to use other people’s skills that casually in the future.

Fight! Of course he had to fight!

He had expected things to reach this stage and anticipated the battle with Zheng Qing.

However, Zheng Qing was too vicious and cruel. He had gone overboard, and Chen An was infuriated.

In the history of the ranking battle stage, it had never been this exciting when someone ranked in the 90s challenged someone ranked in the 70s. It was a very striking battle.

Chen An only had one objective in mind when he stepped onto the battle stage, and it was not for the sake of ranking. He wanted everyone to know that no one could doubt absolute power. They were not qualified to judge whether he was right or wrong.

Dou Buxiang’s appearance stunned everyone as it emerged.

Apart from the Stone Mythical Snake’s spikes and the Boulder Flower’s shield, his body was shrouded with glimmering luster. That was from a beast called Star Butterfly that could use the power of the stars to increase one’s attacking power.

Its paws had become extremely sharp, and its steel-like nails were shimmering like metal. This came from a beast called Savage Wrecker Bear. Not every Beast Tamer could take the blows from those paws.

There were many, many more… Dou Buxiang had completely transformed, and it really did not resemble anything now. It was the perfect fusion of beasts.

“You’ve stolen many things.” Zheng Qing crossed his arms, and his Icicles River Carp was twisting around and entwining his wrist.

“This is nothing.” Based on Chen An’s plan, he wanted to unlock all the beast indexes in the world. This was just the tip of the iceberg.

“Chen An, I was wrong to have allowed someone like you to become a Beast Tamer. I won’t spare you any mercy this time. I’m putting an end to this!”

As soon as Zheng Qing came on-stage, he never planned to use his previous skills to fool around or waste time.

He hollered his most powerful Joint Combo, “Cracking Icicles River!”

The Icicles River Carp’s size immediately multiplied, and the long whiskers around its mouth were about to float outside the battle stage.

He charged toward Chen An furiously and formed a deep, dark abyss in the cold ice as he sped through it.

As he moved, Zheng Qing carved out that familiar carp totem behind him. The only difference was that the patterns were more complicated, and the colors deeper this time.
