Chapter 10 (2/2)

This was how auctions worked—everything depended on luck. It was fully dependent on the items that others sold. There were a lot of miscellaneous items, so being unable to buy what one wished was common.

Chen An turned sideways to look at Lin Yingxue and saw her sigh slightly. “There is no other way.”

“The qualifying match might be important, but you don’t have to think too much about it.” Chen An made a rough calculation. Lin Yingxue had just passed 400 points. If she gave up this battle, it would be regarded as a failure, and many points would be deducted. She would be back to a three-star Beast Tamer.

Lin Yingxue got up and left; her frustration was all written on her back. She was destined to miss the battle she had been looking forward to.

“Have you noticed?” Chen An started whispering. “It seems that someone has been following us all the time.”

Lin Yingxue frowned, turned around, and said unceremoniously, “Hey, if you continue to follow me, don’t blame me for being impolite.”

Not far behind them, a man was squinting and smiling.

Chen An had no idea how long this man had been following them. He had just found out about him.

Lin Yingxue put her hand at her waist. “I warn you not to follow us anymore.” She had beaten up many lecherous men who had been following her. Hence, she did not mind beating up one more person like him.

“Don’t get me wrong, I just want to ask this man a question.” The man walked toward Chen An. “When will you start to auction your item? I have waited throughout the entire auction. I don’t understand why you didn’t auction your item!?”

“My item?” In addition to buying, there were also sellers who came to the auction to sell their items. But today, he did not intend to sell anything, and he did not bring anything with him. This person might have made a mistake.

“You must be putting it aside just to wait for the right price. Just name the price. I won’t bargain. I will give you as much as you ask for.” The man sounded as if he did not care about the price.

Chen An really did not understand what valuable things he had with him that made the man ask brazenly for it. “I really don’t have anything to auction today. We are here to buy goods.”

“Oh!” Realization suddenly dawned upon the man. “It seems that you really don’t know.”

He stretched out his arms in mid-air in front of Chen An.

The Evening Moon Vine on Chen An’s little finger moved restlessly, protruding new shoots, and pulled out a long vine. It actually crawled off Chen An’s little finger and entangled onto the man’s arm.

“Sure enough, it is Evening Moon Vine. It is rare, so rare!” The man was ecstatic, and he studied Evening Moon Vine carefully.

Chen An immediately felt that this person should not be underestimated. The system had added affinity to himself before, so beasts would not take the initiative to attack him.

However, the person in front of him could actively get close to plant-based beasts. He must be accomplished in taming plant-based beasts.

“You don’t understand the true value of Evening Moon Vine, so it’s better to sell it to me. No matter how much you ask for, I will buy it right away.” The man looked at the Evening Moon Vine intently and did not seem interested in speaking to Chen An.

Chen An launched the system. In the beasts index where the unlocked Evening Moon Vine was, it was written that this plant-based beast had many areas to grow and develop. It could break through the Level 100 upper limit of ordinary beasts, and it had a natural skill, Growth.

After the skill was used, it could grow to a gigantic size in a short time.

After reading the index carefully, Chen An knew that the Evening Moon Vine was indeed very powerful, but it was not as exaggerated as what that person made it to be, saying that he “…don’t understand the true value…”.

Or was there anything special about this kind of plant-based beast that he was unaware of?

“Hey, I’ll say it one last time, don’t follow us anymore.” Lin Yingxue pulled Chen An and was about to leave, without even paying attention to the man.

“Oh yeah. What you want may not be money.” The man hurriedly stopped Chen An and took out a small box from his clothes. “Is this what you need?”

A spirit core was lying quietly inside the box. Chen An had the system with him, and it immediately reacted. This was a spirit core with a high-grade agility attribute, as well as a passive attribute.

It was exactly what Lin Yingxue needed most!
