Chapter 2 (2/2)

The small beast was at its last breath, so Chen An immediately used the medium-grade pill. A red beam of light engulfed the small beast, and Chen An could see those gaping wounds healing.

“It seems quite useful.” Chen An had not confirmed whether the system was reliable.

After a while, the small dying beast suddenly sprang to life. It could even stand up.

He could finally see its head and limbs now.

Chen An gave it another handful of feed. Famished, the small beast gobbled the food. It seemed it was not enough as the beast held onto Chen An’s hands and licked them continuously.

Chen An’s palms were itchy. “Are you a dog? Or a cat?”

He could not tell what kind of beast it was.

[The Beast Identifying System has been launched. Identifying…]

Just as Chen An wanted to exclaim that having a system was very convenient, his eyes lit up at the identification results.

Type: Combat Beast

Endowment: Low

Grade: Level 1

Specialty: None

Talent: None

Spirit chamber quantity: 0

Skill chamber quantity: 0

The attributes were inferior, but it was actually a Combat Beast?

“It’s so pitiful.” Chen An poked its small head. As a Combat Beast, it was that lousy. It was no wonder that it had been abandoned and was wandering in the streets.

He was the only one who was willing to take it in. Fortunately, this little fellow was not picky about food. It ate all kinds of feed. Chen An’s parents had left behind a lot of feed, and it was enough to feed it for life. He would take it that he was helping a beggar.

“What should I name you?”

Judging from this beast’s looks, it could be a cat or dog species, but it was neither of them on a closer look. Its face was very adorable, though it exuded a trace of fearsome vibe.

Forget it. Beasts were not the same as ordinary pets on Earth. “I might as well name you Dou Buxiang1.”

The small beast seemed to like this name very much. It made some small noises and then widened its mouth with a seeming smile.

It seemed quite intelligent. Chen An caressed its head. “Are you happy, Dou Buxiang? Why are you happy? You’ll have a hard life if you live with me.”

Chen An took another handful of feed and placed it by the mouth of the beast. “Like me, you are depleting your resources. In time, our fortune is going to be used up. You can only lower your living standards and follow me to a place with poorer living conditions.”

That was right. Chen An had this plan in mind.

He could live in a wealthy estate, enjoy staying in a big house, and lead a relatively good life because of his deceased parents’ inheritance.

However, he only had expenditure and no earnings. He did not have any beasts. In this world, he had no means to make a living and could only tighten his belt. He hoped that the things left behind by his parents could sustain him for a few years.

In this world, families who did not have the Beast Tamer bloodline for many generations were residing in poor estates. They lived alongside trash every day and in an atrocious environment.

“I can’t take this lying down,” Chen An muttered to himself.

He had transmigrated after much difficulty and enjoyed the wealthy estate left by his parents. He felt indignant about gradually heading to destitution and living in poverty.

He had not forgotten the contemptuous laughter of those people earlier.

However, reality was cruel and heartless.

The difference between a Beast Tamer and an ordinary person was akin to heaven and earth. There was a huge gap in their social standing.

“Well?”

Dou Buxiang was tugging at the hem of his clothing. It had laid out all the feed in a tidy and organized manner.

It was clearly hungry but unwilling to touch the feed. Afterward, it sat beside the feed obediently and stared at Chen An.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Chen An ruffled its head. In that instant, he seemed to have understood Dou Buxiang’s intention. “Are you telling me to exchange these items for money?”

This might be a good solution!
