118 A Piece of Puzzle (2/2)

The training ground returned to their previous silence and Zhou Sheng watched the play of emotions on Princess's face and finally ventured forward when she didn't get out of her shooting stance even after a few minutes had passed.

He was worried.

After all, the bullet still had another shell inside it and though it wouldn't kill anyone instantly, it would hurt something fierce if that shell was fired at a human being.

What alarmed him, even more, was the look of sheer rage and bloodlust on her face and he wondered if the events of that night had not only affected her mentally and psychology but if she was even dealing with the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

He cautiously moved towards her.

Zhou Sheng softly tried to regain her attention.

”Your Majesty.”

Tentatively he reached towards her, closed his hands around her shaking ones that still held the gun in a vice-like grip and gently lowered her hands.

When he tried to take away the gun, she fought against his hold so he let her be for the moment.

He could feel her entire petit frame shaking and couldn't help but pity the pair of lovers who had such a violent ending to their bright future.

Suddenly Su Liu closed her eyes and all she could see was the bruised and battered image of that person when she had returned to the warehouse with Li Rong.

She briefly leaned against Zhou Sheng as if trying to centre herself in the present and then a vicious thought streaked through her mind.

Su Li caught a fistful of Zhou Sheng's clothes, pulled him towards her and with clenched teeth hissed, ”Tell me, tell me, you got revenge. Tell me, everything wasn't in vain.”

Zhou Sheng's eyes widened in confusion and he haltingly replied, ”Of course. I have always believed that revenge is a dish best served cold and I dished out everything I could for what happened to you. Do you doubt me on that?”

Su Li shook her head dispassionately as if whether he took revenge on her behalf or not wasn't important to her on a personal level.

”No. Not me. For that person. Tell me, you didn't become a mere spectator after I left. Tell me, you remained true to your words. Tell me you didn't side with others.”

Zhou Sheng closed his eyes in remembered pain and when it felt like Princess couldn't take his silence anymore, he opened them again and there was a strange glint in his eyes.

”Yes. Yes. My answer is yes to all your questions.”
