101 Dreams and Hopes (1/2)

Just as Ning Fu was about to scold Zhou Sheng for leading the monarch astray, he realised that a group of people were going up a flight of stairs.

With a fugitive glance, he noticed that they had entered the rooms that were earmarked for dining and felt that he could finally breathe properly.

The more important point was that he noticed a few young masters from the capital were in that group and all of them had one thing in common.

Before His Majesty had returned to the Imperial Capital, these Young Master's fathers had always fawned upon the first prince - Prince Xi.

It didn't take much thought to realise what was going on in Zhou Sheng's mind.

All of them followed as Su Li staggered up the stairs.

When she made as if to fall, Ning Fu caught her by her arms and was rewarded with a smile for his efforts.

The truth was that Su Li wasn't drunk.

How could she be when she participated in so many banquets and parties in her life in the earlier world but she simply wanted to act drunk so as to save herself if anything unexpected occurred.

Still, she didn't care to explain it all to Ning Fu and the quartet soon reached a room that was just adjacent to the one that group of Young Masters had entered.

Once they took their seats, Su Li smiled at Baozhai and said, ”How about you both go and bring a few dancers in here? Otherwise, it is too lonely up here?”

When Changying made as if to protest, Baozhai quelled her with a slight glare and both of them went out of the room.

Changying complained, ”Why did you agree to come out of the room? The owner already asked us to keep an eye on that group. If she knows that we have been lax, she'll again cut off our monthly income.”

At her words, Baozhai turned towards her with clear contempt in her eyes.

”Changying, do you think I don't know about what goes on in that pretty little head of yours? Neither one of us is a fool, so I can clearly see what you were trying to do in there.”

Had that oblique reference been heard by some other girl in the establishment, they would have become flustered and immediately denied it for fear of reprisal by the proprietress of The Drunken Flower.
