Aylin Lui turned to face him ” Are you sure you want to know the answer? Don't get mad after hearing my answer.”
She's right! Ethan Chance thought in his head. If she ends up answering his question that is not what he wants to hear, he might not control his anger.
Just thinking about his own wife thinking that he's not handsome or s.e.xy enough makes Ethan Chance feel heavy in his c.h.e.s.t.
He wants to know her answer, but he's too scared to know her answer.
He's not surprised that his wife doesn't think he's handsome. She might have seen other handsome men out there since she's pretty herself.
Ethan Chance's c.h.e.s.t feels tighter.
Seeing the ugly change in Ethan Chance's face, Aylin Lui stands tiptoes, wrapping her hands around Ethan Chance's neck and gives Ethan Chance a light kiss on his lips and says ”Let's not talk about something childish.”
She's right! Ethan thought. But he is still feeling heavy deep down inside.
Ring~ Ring~ Ring~
Aylin Lui let go of Ethan Chance's neck ”one moment please.”
She took out her phone in her pocket.
”Hey!” Aylin Lui said.
”Darling, are you coming back here in a few days?” A friendly male voice can be heard on the phone.
”Yes.”
”Yay! That's great. We're thinking of throwing you a party when you come back.” He sounded cheerful.
”Don't bother. I'm not going back there to have fun.”
”Alas! Partying once in a while won't hurt. I'll gather everyone for the preparation. Oh yeah! I'll make sure K show up. I'm sure you guys have a lot to talk about. Anyway, Talk to you later. Love you darling.”
After he was done speaking, he hung up the call.
Ethan Chance was standing not far away from Aylin Lui so he heard their conversation.
'K? The most mysterious person who can kill so many people in the blink of an eye?' Ethan Chance thought in his head.
”Who's K? How do you get to know him?” Ethan Chance asked.
”Oh!” Aylin Lui turns to face Ethan Chance ”Long story short, he's my ex.”
'That guy on the phone called my wife darling and I'm already mad but now K is my wife's ex? No wonder she didn't admit that I'm handsome.' Ethan Chance thought in his head.
”Don't worry. We're not what you think.” ”I'm hungry. You cook or I cook?” Aylin Lui said.
”Go back to your seat, I'll take care of the cooking.”
”Alright! I'll be sitting there watching you cook.”
