229 The Spell Scrolls (1/2)

”Everyone around here seems to have a job to do, even those two goblins that running around Amaryll, I need to something or I'll keep feeling like a freeloader”

”Does Nikalas know about this?”

Reghys asked Vivian as she rolled her eyes

”I'm his mother, he's not mine”

It had been a week since she woke from her coma and it seemed like she was getting bored following Nikalas around and sitting in her room.

”Alright, I may have something for you”

Vivian's face brightened and smiled

”But first you need to swear your loyalty before an oath-taker, only then, I can let you use the apex”

Vivian had heard everything about the apex from Nikalas and she knew that it's the reason for their heaven-defying cultivation speed. Since Nikala already swore his loyalty to Don and he helped them risking his own life, Vivian decided to follow her son and swear her loyalty as she didn't have anything to lose anyway.

”Thank you, your majesty”

Vivian gave a short bow and left the training ground

”What are you planning?”

Just when Vivian's figure disappeared from their sight, Reghys asked.

”Think about it Reghys, what's the most important thing we lack in our kingdom now?”

”You mean that” Reghys's brows raised as she realized what he was thinking.

”Relax, Kayako, you have already met Don, Knight is not as scary as him, at least not in the same way”

At the moment, Amaryll was walking with Nanbu and Kayako to meet Knight at the training hall.

”What do you mean by not in the same way?”

Kayako and Nanbu looked at Amaryll as she giggled

”You will find out”

Amaryll still didn't tell them that Knight is actually a magical beast and the two of them were thinking of him as a human.

As they were following Amaryll, they heard metal slashing, people shouting and grumbling as well as sounds of explosions. If they didn't know they were going towards the training hall, they would have thought a battle was happening near.

And when they a huge door in front of them, Amaryll halted her steps

”Alright, you will meet Knight behind that door”

”Aren't you coming with us, Lady Amaryll?”

Kayako asked as Amaryll quickly shook her head

”Well, I'm not needed in there and besides I have something important to take care”

Just when she said this, the huge door slightly opened as Kayako saw the change in Amaryll's face, she panicked.

”Good luck in there”

Kayako and Nanbu were surprised to see her running away from the door as fast as she could and they even noticed magical fluctuations around her that indicated she was using life energy to enhance her running speed.

Nanbu asked as Kayako shrugged.

”Come, let's go and meet him”

Both of them sighed and opened the door.

When they opened the door, Nanbu simply couldn't believe the size of this hall as he could see at least a five hundred black-armored men were training.

”Kaya, look”

Nanbu pointed at the far corner of the hall and Kayako was surprised when she noticed a grey tiger sitting eyes closed like it was meditating.

And above the grey tiger, they noticed three cubs walking on a thin line and practicing their balance.

”Are they great masters?”

Nanbu eyes seemed like they were going to jump out of his its sockets

”Yes, they are”

All of a sudden, they heard a voice and when they looked in the direction of the voice, they saw a majestic white-furred lion descending as the two long feathery wings gave the lion an angelic charm.

The lion's mane fluttered in the wind as it landed before them.

”I assume you're Nanbu and Kayako, the half-orc and the druid Don told me about”

Knight noticed there were looking at him speechlessly

”Amaryll didn't tell you, did she?”

Nanbu shook his head after a few seconds

”Where is she anyway?”

”She said she has something important to take care of”

Kayako said as Knight smiled

”Of course, she has”

Knight knew that Amaryll would use all kinds of excuses to skip her training and one day, Knight decided to abduct her and train her for a whole day without giving her a break.

”Follow me”

Nanbu and Kayako had never in their life seen a grandmaster magical beast. However, now they were walking and talking with one. Nanbu was a great master but he felt little and weaker compared to the people here.

What confused and surprised them at the same time was that they had never heard about a magical beast like Knight, as far as they knew, there were no winged lion species in this empire.

While Kayako was following Knight, she saw a little elven kid among the men who were training. Kayako wouldn't mind a light training for a kid as young as him but the elven kid was drenched in sweat as he was jumping and leaping from pillar to pillar with his eyes closed. A single misstep could result in broken bones or worse as the pillars were too high.

”General, Knight”

Kayako frowned as he stopped walking. Although Nanbu thought it was too much for a kid like him, he didn't question Knight because he knew that each teacher has their own way of teaching.

”What?”

”That elven kid, his training seems”

”Too harsh”

Knight answered her before even she could finish her thought

”What do you think of his level of cultivation?”

Knight looked at both Nanbu and Kayako
