117 The War Begins II (1/2)
”What the hell is he doing?”
Hearing Don, Kate frowned and mumbled under her breath. Not only Kate, even the men from Korrinth thought of Don as crazy since Agorians had outnumbered them by 4 to 1.
”Brat...”
Looking at Don, King Garreth opened his mouth to mock him but before he could say anything, a loud thunderous sound reverberated through the battlefield out of nowhere.
”What's happening?”
As everyone was wondering about the thunderous roar, suddenly a bright beam of light appeared from the sky and landed behind Don.
When the light beam landed, it made the ground shake and created a small dust storm on the battlefield which blanketed the vision of everyone.
Little by little slowly, the dust storm began to clear and settle down as King Garreth started to see figures standing behind Don. And when the dust completely settled down, everyone's eyes went wide in shock as nearly five hundred soldiers in black armors stood behind Don.
Seeing the scene before him, King Harold pinched himself to see whether it's true or he's dreaming while Darlene couldn't take her eyes off Don and the soldiers behind him.
”Archers”
Don didn't shout but his voice was powered with battle energy so it sounded loud and clear to everyone.
The moment they heard Don, the Everlight's archers nocked the arrows onto their bowstrings and released the arrows aiming at the Agorians.
It only took the archers a second or two to take out their arrows and shoot at the Agorians, the training they had in Everlight turned them and the elves' natural ability as archers turned them into a deadly force just like Don planned in the first place.
”Shield cover!”
Jowan shouted with all his might but it was too late as the arrows already killed nearly fifty mercenaries who were standing in the front of the line.
”Masters”
Darlene mumbled under her breath when she saw the archers of Everlight in action.
”March forward”
Seeing the deadliness of the archers, King Garreth realized they are sitting like ducks in the open field to be killed as he ordered his men to move forwards
The men didn't need King Garreth's order as they already started to run towards Korrinth's side. Just as Everlight's infantry saw the enemies running at them, they raised their shields and stepped in front of the archer unit and formed a defensive formation.
”Look out!”
While they were marching at Korrinth's side King Garreth heard Irvin's shout and turned his head to see a black-robed person slitting his general's throat
”Bastard!”
King Garreth shouted but before he could do anything the person disappeared from his sight leaving the lifeless body of the general behind.
”Jowan who are we dealing with?”
Irvin quickly cast a shield spell to protect himself from the black-robed assassin
”I don't know”
Before they could even reach the Korrinth's side, the archers of Everlight killed a quarter of their men as Agorian's dropped dead like flies.
If the archers weren't problematic enough, the black-robed assassins started to appear and disappear out of nowhere and every time they appeared, they killed the master level mercenaries as well as the powerful men in the army.
”Who is he?”
King Harold saw the entire battle with an open mouth, the battle started only just a couple of minutes ago but they had already killed so many of the Agorian's without breaking a sweat, and he had yet to see the Everlight's infantry in battle.
As the Agorians got closer to Don, Arrora dashed forward as she grabbed a sword from one of the men from Korrinth's army and appeared before Don.
And when Arrora appeared before Don, Darlene thought as she's there to protect Don but she didn't expect Arrora to run towards the Agorians without any shred of fear in her eyes.
Seeing the girl running at them, Irvin couldn't help but remember the girl beat him at the Royal Dine as subconsciously Irvin stopped his horse from moving forward.
As Arrora got closer to the Agorian's her figure started to blur as no one except Darlene could see Arrora with her current speed. And when she was a few feet away from the Agorian's Arrora leaped into the air as some of the Agorian's looked up to see a white blur in the air but before they could realize what's happening, the white blurred landed in the middle of the Agoria's elite troops.
Even though no one was able to clearly see Arrora with her speed, Don could see everything in slow motion.
”Jowan, King Garreth get to safety”
Irvin shouted as he witnessed the commotion among the Agoria's so called elite.
