Joel's mind went blank for a moment hearing princess Darlene's outrageous request not to mention shameless. On the throne, Warren nearly fell down when the princess said the 'pretend to be my lover ' part.
Even though he only met Don a couple of times, he vaguely had some ideas about Don's personality. In Warren's mind, Don was like a fire, one does not want to be too close or too far from it.
Don was not someone that Warren would call a warm person, in fact in Warren's mind Don was a cold, ruthless youth who was definitely not a friendly person. However the princess Darlene was now asking that cold guy to be her lover, it was not going to end well for her or he thought.
”Mister Joel, I know you might think this is weird or even unreasonable of me to ask such thing but believe me I would have asked this if I have any other ways”
Joel was quietly listening to the princess Darlene as he was concerned and scared or both in the inside. At first, when Joel heard that the princess had flown the kingdom and seeking Don's help, he thought the Korrinth kingdom was invaded or the princess needed any military support from Emir or Everlight.
However, he never imagined the princess would ask Don to be her lover for two months so she could get into the Cold Moon Palace and rebel against her father.
After staying silent for moments,
”Princess Darlene, honestly I initially thought you need some military support or something related, not this. I cannot make a decision in this matter behalf of his highness”
Princess Darlene let out a short laugh
”I understand Mister Joel, I understand” Princess Darlene's attitude seemed like she was demanding not asking but it was not Joel's place to say or do anything rash before informing Don.
Joel didn't know whether Don was listening through the Khal or not and before leaving Joel had one thing to ask the princess
”Princess Darlene, can I ask you something?”
”Sure, what is it?”
”Why did you choose his highness Don, you could have easily chosen anyone including other princes to do this?”
Instead of princess Darlene, it was uncle Steve who answered Joel's question
”Because his highness King Harold, Princess Darlene's father knew every king and prince in the whole Moon Empire”
”Except King Don,” Joel said as uncle Steve nodded ”exactly”
This whole conversation was so weird and shocking to Joel that made him want to go to Don and tell Darlene's request and be done with it,he couldn't think clearly or had anything else running in his mind.
Since Joel could not make any decisions by himself, the only thing he could do was return to Everlight and convey this weird request to Don.
Signing heavily Joel stood up from his seat as did the princess and uncle Steve ”I will convey your request to his highness Don, Princess Darlene”
”Wonderful” princess Darlene clapped her hand and laughed while Joel bowed towards her and Warren before making his way towards the exit.
Warren knew Joel would not have any appetite after hearing princess Darlene's request so he didn't stop him
”Ask him to make a decision quickly Mister Joel, sooner or later my father is going to find out that I'm here”
Joel stopped walking and turned to see where's she going with this, as the princess continued
”At that time the entire force of Korrinth will be at Emir's door, we don't want that do we?”
Although the princess said everything with calm and with a smile on her face, it sounded like a threat to Joel. Besides the princess, even uncle Steve had a difficult smile on his face unlike Warren who was completely shocked and stood stiff behind the princess looking at Joel
”I'll see you soon, Princess” Joel bowed again and walked hurriedly without even looking back as Glacia did a small curtsy and followed Joel.
”Princess, do you think he will agree?”
After seeing Joel and Glacia's carriage disappear, uncle Steve came close to the princess and asked her silently
”I���m a damsel in distress uncle, who wouldn't want to be a knight in shining armor?”

”That's a typical princess slash young miss for you” Knight scowled after hearing everything from Joel.
Standing behind Don, Arrora was drinking Amaryll's homemade remedy for a hangover which was made by the goblins since Amaryll couldn't even get up from her bed due to hangover let alone making this drink.
Don had seen enough arrogant young misses and princesses for a lifetime when he was in the divine continent and it seemed like princess Darlene was not an exception.
After reciting everything that happened in Emir with princess Darlene, Joel expected that Don would get angrier or at least show some kind of emotions but seeing Don listened to him sitting on his throne without uttering a word, he was a little disappointed.
”She thinks we are easy to bully cause she has never heard of us” Unlike Don, Knight was furious and kept growling.
”So tell me Joel, what did she offer in return?” Don finally opened his mouth and asked Joel.
But the moment Don asked, Arrora almost spat out the drink she was gulping
