”How's that possible!” Yamcha thought he was dreaming.
”I hate to admit it, but that attack from Vegeta was stronger than anything I could muster, and it did nothing!” Tien stated.
Piccolo silently watched the spectacle below, while clenching his fist. Training with Kakarot over the last three years opened his eyes to how fast Saiyans could improve their strength. He knew that if he was going to have any hope of being useful in the future, he would need to take drastic measures.
”What is Dr. Wheelo doing?” Reiss pointed down at the ruins of the laboratory.
The doctor was furiously typing commands into one of the remaining consoles. He was activating the emergency procedure for the remaining pods left inside the destroyed lab. Metal walls rose from the ground beneath each of the pods, enclosing them in a shell. After a final code was entered by Wheelo, the encased pods blasted away from the base.
”We need to stop those!” Bardock started to make a move after the pods. ”There is no way lettin'em go will lead to anything good!”
”Why don't you hold on?” the orange scarf wearing, black haired, cyborg appeared in the air near the group. They were all caught off guard by the speed of the cyborg. ”My sister is about to play with your loud mouth friend down there. I'm betting it will be quite the show.”
”I don't wanna be left out.” Kakarot grinned, ”You don't wanna be bored either, right?”
”Please, you and your group are no match for us. It will be boring either way.” #17 laughed.
BOOM!
Because of the sudden appearance of #17, the group failed to see what had happened. #18 had sent Vegeta packing with an explosive punch to his face. The Super Saiyan tried to stabilize himself as he was sent backwards from the hit. The group saw several rock formations crumble from Vegeta flying through them at supersonic speeds.
”Tsk,tsk, he's already off to a poor start.” #17 shook his head, completely ignoring the other fighters.
He watched his sister rocket towards her opponent without waiting for him to recover.
By the time Vegeta clawed his way out of the rubble of the mountain he crashed into, #18 was already in his face. The arrogant Saiyan had no time to react to the sudden arrival of the his opponent. The female cyborg brought her knee up, striking Vegeta in the chin.
Eschalot winced when she saw the devastating rising knee that sent her father rocketing into the sky. The clouds overhead parted in a ring pattern from Vegeta passing through them. #18 was already waiting in the sky for her opponent to arrive. She tensed the muscles in her leg as the Saiyan drew closer.
WHAM!
When Vegeta had arrived at the proper location, #18's kick erupted into his gut, causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood as he crashed down into a nearby landmass. The battle was going as #17 thought it would. He had complete confidence in his sister's and his abilities. If all the fighters were as weak as Vegeta, they wouldn't even need to use their special abilities. Just relying on their infinite energy generators would be enough.
”We should probably chase after them if we want to see how my sister wins.” #17 informed the group. As he was leaving, Kakarot finally couldn't bear standing by any longer and decided to stop him.
”You think I'm just going to let you leave?” Kakarot asked. ”I'm ready try my luck out.”
The golden Super Saiyan aura blazed around Kakarot as he transformed, dropping into his fighting pose. The cyborg didn't know what to make of the Saiyans confidence in being able to put up a better fight than his friend.
”Fine, I'll make this quick so I can see the rest of the fight.” the cyborg declared with a hint of boredom.
#17 quickly crossed his arms in front of his face, to block the punch launched by the Super Saiyan. Kakarot used this as an opportunity to attempt to put some distance between the deadly cyborg and the rest of the group.
In the East Galaxy Area, one of the Menagerie's shuttles docked with the adrift Shadow. Nappa, Toma, and a technician, Ensign Canta, exited the shuttle to investigate what happened to the Shadow. The ship was operating on very low power and neither Nappa or Toma could sense anybody living on the ship. As they traveled along the hallways they saw clear signs of battle damage. The walls had scorch marks and the floors were covered in broken equipment.
When the group reached the lift that led to the bridge level, they found that the door was locked down due to damage. It took less than twenty minutes for Ensign Canta to repair the doors, allowing them to open. On the bridge, the investigation team was met by an assortment of damaged, sparking, consoles. Canta felt personally hurt by all of the damage to the ship's systems.
”Once I repair some of this, I can get the Shadow's AI back online. Then it should be able to tell us what happened.” Canta stated.
He removed a DynoCap from his black and red, Prometheus Empire, mechanic jumpsuit. When he pressed the small plunger, the capsule exploded into a full sized toolbox. The Ensign made his way over to a console and positioned himself underneath it, he had arrived at his wiry battlefield. It was one hour before he was able to get the Shadow AI back online.
”Shadow, this is Ensign Canta from the Menagerie.” Canta identified himself. ”Can you hear me?”
”Affirmative, Ensign Canta.” came a monotone reply. ”I am online, and functioning below capacity.”
”What happened to the crew?” Nappa asked.
”Searching memory.” the same disembodied voice stated. ”The crew was taken to be enslaved by the group terrorizing the East Galaxy Area, now identified as the Bojack Pirate Syndicate.”
