Chapter 2 - Outsmarted (1/2)

Jing Lihua walked to the huge glass panes and gazed down at the bustling city at her feet. Her youthful round, puffy face held its innocent charm. But her eyes were replaced with that of a mature lady. Her incisive gaze was very different from that of the innocent gaze that the naive Jing Lihua held - the one who cluelessly fell in love. A series of misfortune taught her, matured her. Now, under her bewitching green eyes, hid a cunning fox ready to exploit its enemies and make them pay a hundred times.

Since Gods had given her another chance, she would definitely not waste it.

Her A-line, pure white wedding gown cascaded down her petite stature and spread on the floor. Her black shinning hair was done into a bridal updo braid. Two strands of wavy hair hung loosely on both sides of her squashy cheeks.

Her slender, snow-white hands exquisitely held a wine glass filled with a deep red wine. This was the last day she would drink. Drink away the sorrows of the past and look forward to her new life. Looking down at the sparkling vehicles running up and down the curving streets created such a beautiful scene. With everything at her feet, she looked like an unreachable immortal, an ethereal beauty. Yet the feelings she harbored were so different from the ones in her previous life.

In her last life, her heart was filled with delight and optimism as she looked forward to her married life, She had eagerly waited for her husband but this time...

Her delicate fingers tightened around the glass. Determination and hostility flashed across her sharp eyes. Those eyes didn't have the same cheerfulness and naiveness, but unparalleled strength and cunningness.

It should be time. She turned to face the door and gracefully took another sip.

Su Liwei walked in dressed in a slim fit, custom made wedding tuxedo. His chiseled features and wealth could make any woman throw herself on his feet. The same aura of coldness surrounded him that kept his enemies at bay.

Jing Lihua's heart wavered slightly but her exterior showed no cracks at all. Su Liwei's eyes narrowed when he found Jing Lihua equally cold eyes. Jing Lihua knew what he was going to say next. And before he could humiliate her, she took the initiative.

”Mr. Su, now that all the guests and the media have left, I'll take my leave. I'll call the manager to arrange another room for you if you wish to stay overnight.” All was said in a smooth professional tune; her voice held an inexplicable strength and was unreasonably soothing to listen; and placing the glass on a side table, she walked out without even waiting for his reply.

The tall skyscraper reaching the depths of the sky, was originally under Tang enterprise real estate so it was natural that she, being the President after her marriage, was responsible for accommodating an important guest.

By this move, she wanted to show Si Liwei that she held the Tang enterprise in more respect than him. She wanted to show him she wasn't just some weakling. She had great power in her hands.

Jing Lihua was halted when strong fingers curled around her wrist.

”What is it, Mr. Su?” She asked without looking at him.

Wasn't it how he had treated her before? She had waited upon him impatiently only for him to return and tell her that he would leave for a business trip tomorrow and that she shouldn't expect anything from him because their wedding was nothing but a matter between families.

That night, she had cried herself to sleep. In the upcoming days, in order to please him, she had completely forsaken her company and served him day and night.

But not this time.

”It is our wedding night” He took a step back to meet her eyes.
