14 Give up? (1/2)
Aiden turned around instinctively and ran away. Fighting against two beasts is not going to be a big problem for him, but he was worried that all the others would attack him at the same time.
'And if the one with the four hands attacks…' Aiden didn't even want to think about it. He only decided to engage after they had traversed a long distance. He had no problem fighting the Extra-hand, but the other one was a headache.
Continuous dodging made Aiden's breath more ragged. He wanted to attack, but every time he closed in, the one with an extra head would attack him with a blowpipe.
'And I thought their pattern of attack was the same.' Aiden sighed as he moved his body a little to dodge another dirt. He wasn't wrong about that. The one with the extra arm had only known how to attack, but...
'Looks like having an extra head does the trick.' Aiden stared at the 'Double-head.' The name he gave to the companion of Extra-Hand.
[Name: Double-head

[Author note: There was a mistake in the last chapter. Extra-hand is a grade-C mutated human beast, like Double-head.]
'If you're not coming then...' The speed of the extra-hand wasn't high enough to keep up with Aiden, even without [Light Foot]. But now that he activated it, Extra-hand didn't have a way to touch it.

Stacked with [Reduced Drag], Aiden had no trouble chasing after the Double-head. As soon as it realized that, it had blown two more poisonous darts to Aiden before running the other way.
When Aiden ran after it, he noticed something. During the run, one of the heads controlled its body, while the other kept putting the darts in the blowpipe.
”Like hell, I'm going to give you a chance.” After confirming from the ESS that all of his five-unit mana had been recovered, he...

In a blink, Aiden appeared in front of the Double-head. Not only was it fast, but the Double-head was also nimble enough. Although it looked awkward, it was effective when one head of the body tried to pull the other part out of the blade's path.
Alas, Aiden hasn't finished yet. As soon as his leg touched the ground, two warnings and a timer popped up in front of his eyes.

Whether it was because of the initiation of two innate abilities at once or because of his mana exhaustion, Aiden felt a little dizzy. But he didn't have time to relax as he lunged again.
[4.8823]: He could see it in slow motion, as the Double-head was trying to stabilize itself.
[4.6791]: Looking at Aiden's hand, it understood Aiden's intention.
[4.5127]: It was trying to blow another dirt, while the other head was trying to duck. It was too late, though.
Aiden's [Wind Scythe] missed their throat, but not by much.
[4.3819]: The [Wind Scythe] vanished, shedding the blood left on the ground.
Aiden couldn't dare to look back at the Double-head. Half of its heads had been cut, shedding blood and grey matter all over its body. One of the eyes was still hanging from the veins, as the body fell to the ground.
The effect of [Light Foot] and [Zone] could not be stacked. Still, the change in agility from 47\u003e118 is not something that can be ignored, much less when compared to the speed of the Extra-Hand.
Before it could understand what had happened, The Extra-hand fell to the ground with a pierced heart and a slit throat. Even if its intelligence was low, it could still understand what had happened. As it looked at the human, there was nothing but fear in its eyes.

But Aiden was not able to hear any of it. His heart worked extra time to pump blood through his veins, and the lungs worked harder to add a little extra oxygen, but none of it could relieve the piercing pain in his brain.
He was swallowing a large mouth full of air as he slowly recovered from the agonizing headache.
