Chapter 42 - Red Haired Corpses
”Ancient tomb? ”What's going on? Why is the origin of these demon corpses in an ancient tomb?”
Li Mu and Ren Xiaoyao became suspicious.
Di Yun explained: ”According to my ancestor, that ancient tomb is the tomb of an ancient emperor. I don't know how many years ago, a mortal emperor was buried there.
”Could it be the Thousand Year Old Corpse Transformation from the legends?” That's not right, for normal mortal corpses, even if they underwent Corpse Transformation, they would at most be low-level demon corpses. Moreover, they would not be able to see the light of day.
Ren Xiaoyao seemed to have understood all of this before, and asked closely.
Di Yun shook his head: ”I am not sure, ever since the Patriarch and the other senior were severely injured, no one dared to easily go up the Green Cloud Mountain, the two of you are lucky, if we were to go over the Green Cloud Mountain at night, it might not necessarily be possible to see me now, so these demon corpses normally do not come out during the day, and only move at night.”
Just like this, the three of them chatted as they travelled. An hour later, an ancient town that was no smaller than Sunset Cloud City appeared in their eyes. It was Qingyun Town.
Although it was already night time, the Qingyun Town was still brightly lit. At the entrance to the town, there were still dozens of armored warriors holding onto weapons standing guard.
”Greetings, Young Master Yun!”
Seeing Di Yun bringing Ren Xiaoyao to their side, the warriors that were guarding him immediately greeted him. Obviously, they treated Di Yun with utmost respect.
Di Yun laughed blandly: ”It's been hard on you, if there's anything, remember to send a signal.”
The leading ranker nodded, and then opened up a path for Di Yun and the other two.
The Qingyun Town was very big. Even though it was only a town, it wasn't too different from a normal small city. Under Di Yun's lead, the two of them quickly arrived at the entrance of a heavily guarded mansion.
”This is my house, Brother Li, please enter!”
Di Yun led the two of them into Imperial Mansion, where the guards did not stop them, seems like Di Yun's identity was truly not ordinary.
Bringing Li Mu and Ren Xiaoyao into a guest room, Di Yun instructed the servants to serve a large table of dishes and wine. Ren Xiaoyao was very satisfied with the order, and without being polite, he started to eat heartily.
Li Mu did not show weakness, he was already hungry, and crazily cleaned up the table.

”Sixteen years ago? Big matter? ”
Di Yun scratched his head, and after a while, shook his head: ”Even though I grew up in Qingyun Town, sixteen years ago, I was only three or four years old.
”It's like this. I once had an elder who travelled here sixteen years ago. However, for some unknown reason, he disappeared and I never heard of him again. Thus, I came here today to inquire about his whereabouts.”
Li Mu naturally would not say anything about Yu Hongyi, and he said this in a panic.
”So that's the case, I have a way, Xiao Cui, go get Butler Zhao, tell him that I have something to ask him?”
Di Yun thought about it and came up with an idea.
The little girl named Xiao Cui nodded her head obediently and ran out of the room. In the time it took to brew a cup of tea, Xiao Cui brought a man in his fifties or sixties into the room. Obviously, it was the butler Zhao that Di Yun had mentioned.
”Young Master, why have you summoned this old servant here?”
Butler Zhao bowed to Di Yun and asked slowly.
”Uncle Zhao, no need to be so courteous. It's like this, do you know if there was any major event that happened in my Qingyun Town sixteen years ago?”
After Di Yun asked this question, he gave Li Mu a meaningful look.
Li Mu nodded and listened carefully.
Steward Zhao replied with a strange expression, ”Sixteen years ago? Young Master, why are you asking this? Back then, you were still young. ”
Di Yun's expression became slightly unhappy as he said: ”I have my reasons for this, just say it.”
”Our Qingyun Town has always been calm. Aside from the few years of calamity that befell the demon corpses, there haven't been many major events. However, speaking of sixteen years ago, there has indeed been a major event that occurred.”
”I remember that one night, in the Red Leaf Valley, which was located halfway between the Green Cloud Mountain and our Qingyun Town, there was a huge battle. The commotion was so loud that one could hear it in a radius of ten Li, it was definitely the work of an existence above the Innate Realm.”

Butler Zhao recalled and explained.
When Di Yun finished listening, he looked at Li Mu. He had never heard of this before, so he wondered if what Li Mu had asked him about was this matter.
Li Mu did not reply, his expression was strange, one could not tell whether he was happy or angry.
”Wood, what's wrong with you? Have you really come all the way here for this matter?”
Li Mu had never told him about his background, so Ren Xiaoyao did not know the true purpose of Li Mu coming to the Qingyun Town.
