She was initially planning to stay for a short while. But staying until the next day, wasn't that too much?

That would mean spending the night in a man's house, wouldn't it?

When he didn't hear her say anything for a long time, he knew that she was considering saying no.

”Sometimes, I will feel cold at night and adjust the AC. I don't know what to do if that happens since I'm now...” he did not complete his statement, letting Yun Xuan fill it in her own.

”Besides, what if I felt hungry again? I don't want to bother you to run back and forth to cook for me.”

Yun Xuan's heart was successfully tugged. ” Even if I stayed here tonight, that is only a temporary solution. How about I hire someone to take care of you? I will drop by a few times but they will...”

Lin Ye tugged at her clothes. Forget about the future.”Xuanxuan, I don't want you to hire anyone. I don't trust them. What if they did something to me, taking advantage of the fact that I won't see? Just stay here tonight and we'll think of a permanent solution later, okay?”

Yun Xuan was speechless. You don't trust caregivers but you trust me? How many times had they met?

Lin Ye rememberd that she had once mentioned that Yun Feng couldn't go to sleep in her absence. Luckily he had thought about this. ”You can bring him along and let him sleep next to you. He will feel safe, right?”

Yun Xuan felt this idea dismissed both of her worries.

Just like that, Yun Xuan agreed to stay. She rushed to the Lin residence to get a change of clothes for her and her son. In her bag, she didn't forget to include Yun Feng's favourite toy car and the little robot figurine that he loved very much.

On her way back, she bought more ingredients, remembering that there was nothing in Lin Ye's fridge.

”You're back.” Lin Ye sounded like he had been waiting for ages.

”Mmh. Do you want to go for a walk? You must want to get some fresh air after staying in the house for all this while. Don't worry, we will only go to your backyard.”

Her words startled Lin Ye.

There was nothing wrong with what she said. However, it reminded him of a conversation he had overheard while in the college of fashion  design.
