Chapter 596 - Wedding night (2/2)

”Fifteen.”

”Ninth question. Which birthday present does my sister treasure the most, who gave it to her and how old was she?”

Mu Zhichen didn't think too hard. ”The ruby necklace that father-in-law gave to her on her sixteenth birthday.”

Lu Xian Li was prepared to say 'wrong' but she was stunned. She had told him this? Then it meant their relationship was very good.

”The final question...” everyone looked at Small Xixi.

”On Sis Meili's ninth birthday, which dress was she wearing and where did she get it? You have to get it right on the first try.”

Mu Zhichen was speechless.

Forget about Mu Zhichen. Even Lu Xian Li couldn't remember this. Not even Katy who was older at the time could recall it. She was surprised that Small Xixi asked this.

Mu Zhichen instinctively looked at Lu Xian Yu.

The boy looked at him innocently. ”I wasn't born.”

Urgh... right. Lu Meili was turning nine. He was born when she was ten.

”Can't get it, huh?” Small Xixi and the girls looked proud like they had won.

”Countdown to five and you lose.”

The girls started counting in chorus. ”Five...

Four

Three

Two”

”A lacy white dress designed by Xia Rou.” A voice filled the air.

Everyone looked at the person who spoke. This guy...

Those who didn't know thought it was luck, those who knew remained silent.

”We will take our leave now.” Katy said and dragged the girls away with her. If they continued lurking here, Mu Zhichen would get angry and consequently, they wouldn't hear the end of it from Lu Meili.

After 'Fighting a deadly battle' with those girls, Mu Zhichen finally set foot into the bridal room.

Sitting on the bed was his little wife, still clad in her wedding gown. Apparently, she needed help unhooking the veil and unzipping the gown.

The floor was covered in a layer of red rose petals, with burning candles arranged to form a path to the bed.

The beddings were pure white and there was a huge heart shape at the center, made of rose petals.

The red, white, and the yellowish color of the flames from the candles mixed perfectly, emmiting a warm and romantic atmosphere.

The woman on the bed, however, was evidently nervous.

She became even more nervous when he walked over and sat beside her on the bed.

Mu Zhichen was not an innocent little boy. He would be an idiot if he didn't figure out why she was nervous.

He raised a hand to unhook the veil off her head. ”If you are not ready, we can postpone our wedding night 'business' to when you are comfortable.” He said patiently.

Lu Meili turned and hugged him. ”Thank you.”

He was really too understanding.

When Small Xixi was helping her dress up, she showed her the almost invisible hooks on the waist of her gown which she could unhook a few layers of the skirt off, along with the long train. What would remain would look like a normal gown. Wan Jia sure was thoughtful.

She took them off and got rid of the tiara as well. She was now more comfortable. Although she liked her bridal gown, it was tiresome to stay in those layers of cloth for such a long time.

”Are you going to take a bath first?” Mu Zhichen asked, his eyes unintentionally darting towards the bathroom door.

Lu Meili followed his line of sight and could see everything inside in a flash. ”Uhm...”

This was wedding suite. There was nothing strange about a transparent bathroom door, but why did it make her feel awkward?

”You... you go first. I will not look at you.” She stammered, her face scarlet. She didn't dare to look him in the eye.

She would find a way to handle this once he was out.

Mu Zhichen chuckled at his blushing wife, smacked a kiss on her face and left for the bathroom.

...

Seconds later, Lu Meili heard the sound of running water.

She gulped. He was using the shower?

Unintentionally, she pictured his silhouette behind that door, standing straight and water pouring down his skin from the showerhead. She had the insatiable urge to take a look.

He was so handsome. He must be even more handsome without clothes on, right?

”Damn it Lu Meili! Since when were you such a pervert?” She admonished herself, but her eyes were still under strong waves of temptation.

No. She promised to not look. He might feel his privacy has been invaded.

Minutes later, her heart was racing wildly.

Er... If she took just a quick tiny peek, he wouldn't notice, right?
