Chapter 563 - I love you (1/2)

After exchanging a few words with Lu Aotian as a formality, Mu Zhichen finally helped Lu Meili into his car.

”Why are you staring at me?” Lu Meili felt a bit awkward when the man kept stealing glances at her. With time, it turned into staring.

”You look beautiful.” Mu Zhichen made up an excuse right away.

He was just in disbelief. He couldn't dare to believe that not only did he go on a blind date with Lu Meili, she had a good impression of him too. In fact, his father had said that if all went well, it wouldn't be too long before they got engaged since Lu Aotian approved him already.

He would never tell anyone that he had fallen in love with Lu Meili a long time ago. Even he didn't know when it happened.

That time they met when she was turning four, he hated her for scolding him as an uncle. However, as the years passed and he started seeing her in movies, his hatred for her gradually turned into love. Even he couldn't understand how it happened.

However, he couldn't possibly have the courage to go after her. Those many years ago, he had said, ”Little Jia is very beautiful. When I grow up, I won't marry unless my wife is just as beautiful.”

The little girl had heard him and retorted, ”My mommy said that a man can only have one wife, and a woman can only have one husband. My husband is Tangtang.”

At that point, he didn't know whether she was just blabbering some of her childish nonsense or being real. Of course, a four year old couldn't possibly understand what marriage was. She was probably just blabbering nonsense.  But when he realized his love for her and asked his father about her, his father mercilessly told him that Lu Meili's marriage seemed to have already been decided.

When his father told him about a blind date with Lu Aotian's daughter, his first impression was that he was talking about Lu Xian Li. He had been quite shocked by Lu Aotian's and his father's train of thought. When he first met Lu Meili, she didn't have a sister. Then, wasn't Lu Xian Li still too young? It was very likely that she wasn't even twenty yet.

Never would he have expected that his date was not Lu Xian Li but the Lu Meili who seemed far from his reach. Was this fate?

Lu Meili didn't understand why the man on the driver's seat kept smiling to himself and even almost blushing. Men could be quite strange sometimes.

”Any farther and we will crash.” She said when she saw that the man was getting more and more lost in thought.

Mu Zhichen jerked from his thoughts. ”We're here. How fast.”

Lu Meili chuckled as he hurriedly got down to open the car door for her. Although she knew that she couldn't easily fall in love with him, she had to admit that he was quite cute. In terms of background, he could be considered slightly better off than Xu Tang. His looks didn't pale in comparison either.

”Wait for me here, okay? I'll go and buy tickets.”

”Then I'll get snacks.”

”Sure.”

Lu Meili didn't expect that while buying snacks, she would meet the man she had been avoiding for many days. What was worse, he saw her too.

”Meili, it's really you. Why are you here?”

Lu Meili couldn't feel any more awkward. How was this different from meeting an ex while on a date? ”I'm here to watch a movie.” Wasn't it obvious?

Unexpectedly, Xu Tang took her arm. ”I'm here with Small Xixi and she went to buy tickets. Can we talk? I have something to tell you.”
