Chapter 508 - Can you give it up? (1/2)
Wan Jia made Little Jia sit and passed the small bundle into her arms, supporting her a little so she wouldn't be too heavy.
Little Jia was so happy that she just couldn't stop laughing. Her sister was so cute and smelt so nice. She was prettier than her prettiest doll.
She held the little baby against her lap and stuck out her finger to poke her. How soft.
Happily, she started singing to her some of the songs her mother would sing to her to make her happy.
The little thing blinked.
Wan Jia's heart filled with warmth. What a cute pair of sisters.
But... she looked at Lu Xian Li's face and observed it carefully.
”Wait, what...” Wan Jia took back the tiny Lu Xianli worriedly. ”What's this red spot?”
Wan Jia put her into the girlishly decorated cradle carefully and checked the spot she had seen on the chin.
Checking carefully, there was one more on her neck. It looked familiar...
”Erm... Little Jia, did you play with your cat today? These look just like what would appear on your dad's skin when he came into contact with your cat, before he was prescribed the cream to prevent allergic reactions.”
Little Jia looked at her hands conciously. She had. Right after coming home from school, the first thing she ever did was check on her cat and play with it. Since Lu Aotian never had any allergic reaction, she had forgotten all about caution. She didn't know that it would one day harm her younger sister.
”I'll call the nurse over. Stay away from Xianli for now, okay?”
”Yes mommy,” She looked in the direction of the cradle. ”Sorry Xianli.” She walked away sadly. Just the first day and she had already hurt her little sister?
”Don't be sad baby, it's not your fault.” Wan Jia noticed the sadness in her daughter's voice and coaxed her before rushing out.
By the time the nurse arrived, the rashes had become painful, making Lu Xian Li cry from the pain.
Lu Aotian was holding her and trying to coax her.
”Mister Lu, you know that little babies cannot be exposed to much medicine, right?”
”Yes, just treat her. I'll handle the rest.”
”Okay.”
Lu Aotian left the baby in Wan Jia's and the nurse's care and called Little Jia aside.
”Princess, you heard what the nurse said, right?”
”Uh huh.”
”I'm an adult, so I can take medicine and use cream to prevent and treat allergic reactions. But Xianli is just a baby. She cannot do either of that.”
Little Jia took a lock of her hair between her fingers. She was fighing the moisture building up in her eyes. ”Daddy, what are you saying?”
Lu Aotian's heart ached. He had no choice either. ”I know you love your little Brownie very much. However, as long as it stays around, the fur will get to your sister in one way or another.”
He crouched and hugged her. ”Princess, can you give it up for adoption?”
Little Jia's tears finally fell. That was the first pet she had ever had, as well as the gift she loved the most. Her aunty Lihua had given it to her and she had taken good care of it. She loved it very much. She really had to?
She hugged her father's neck, hoping he would change his mind.
