Chapter 439 - Such trivial matters (1/2)

As anyone would expect, she was here to ask Lu Aotian to let Amy off. She had been invited as a guest but this was the only reason why she came. In her mind, Amy should not have been punished.

On account that the Blanc and Lu families had been allies for decades, and Henry Blanc and he could be considered best friends, he should forgive Amy's ignorance, right?

Although Henry Blanc made it sound as though Amy should not be forgiven, who didn't ever make mistakes? She hoped Lu Aotian would understand. She believed that as long as Lu Aotian interfered with the court, Amy's case would disappear.

With a heart full of hope, she watched Lu Aotian from a distance, not even letting her own son notice her presence. She knew that Henry would try to stop her from going anywhere near the Lus.

As soon as Lu Aotian's speech was done, she went in the same direction in which he went.

It was at this point that Henry Blanc spotted her movement from the corner of his eye. He did not try to stop her. He knew what she was thinking; but he also knew that Lu Aotian would never spare Amy Blanc. It was useless to talk her out of it, she may as well go ahead and Lu Aotian's ruthless answer would be the one to make her give up.

Mrs. Blanc took two glasses of wine and went towards Lu Aotian. The man turned and looked at her.

Nervously, she gave one glass to him. ”I have not made a toast to you yet.”

Lu Aotian knew that there was another intention hidden in those eyes, and he could basically guess what it was, but he took the glass. ”Aunty, if you have anything to say, you can say it.” Since he was going to disappoint her, he should at least save her time and effort.

Mrs. Blanc gathered her courage and spoke. ”About what Amy did…

That child is very ignorant and often does things without thinking about the consequences. It was her fault this time and ours too for not bringing her up well enough. Could you let her off this once?”

Lu Aotian put the wineglass down, his face expressionless. Mrs. Blanc forced her heart to remain hopeful. Who knows, he might agree?

However, Henry Blanc was right. He was ruthless with his answer. ”If Lu Meili did something wrong and was to be taken to the juvenile court, I would not bend the law for her. How can I do it for a grown up woman with brains to tell right from wrong? Since it turned out this way, you should learn a lesson and bring up Katy Blanc well, so you will not have to keep telling people in future that you have not brought her up well enough.”

After saying this, Lu Aotian left to greet other guests.

Mrs. Blanc had no way to react. Lu Aotian was completely right. Every time Amy Blanc did something wrong, they would regret spoiling her too much. Would they have to say the same thing if Katy Blanc did wrong things in future?

But, she couldn't give up and let her daughter go to jail! She was still her daughter even if she was a criminal.

As she turned to leave, she saw the kids playing together aside.

Since they were Wan Jia's little models, Tangtang, Small Xixi, Katy Blanc and Little Jia had all attended the banquet. In case they got bored, Wan Jia had arranged for many toys and children's food. They would play together for a while and when they got sleepy, they would be taken home to sleep.

Mrs. Blanc was currently looking at Little Jia. The girl was active today, talking as her little friends laughed. She was probably telling them jokes. Looking at her, one would strongly believe that she was the past image of Wan Jia.
