Chapter 397 - Lets play (1/2)

Since Lu Aotian instructed her to not go anywhere unless she had to, Wan Jia chose to stay in the Lin residence for a while. She would go back to Southside later when she wouldn't be bothered by the media or the public.

After deliberating for a while, the main point finally sank in.

Elder Master Zhang was murdered, and Shishi had commited suicide?

Or was it Shishi who was murdered and her death caused her grandfather to commit suicide?

The first option made more sense. After all, it was more common for young girls to have suicidal thoughts than for elders.

However, wouldn't everything have happened too fast? Why did she think it was fake news?

Lin Lihua knocked on the bedroom door and came in. To keep her sister company, she had taken a day off work. She brought in some pastries with her. ”Are you okay?”

”Yeah, thank you. Aotian will handle everything.” Although she was confident in this, she felt useless for not being able to do anything. Partially, she felt it was her fault. If she didn't forcefully buy those shares, it might not have come to this. But if she didn't buy them, the other party would get what he wanted. How could someone possibly create such a sure win situation for themselves?

With everyone taking care of her, however, Wan Jia indeed felt much better.

Xia Rou even bought her a new phone, the latest phone from the brand she liked. It was a total upgrade from the phone she just broke.

”Mom, you didn't have to do this.” She felt embarassed.

”Mommy has never done anything for you. Are you going to deprive me of the right to do these little things for my daughter?”

”Then...then I'll transfer the money to you later.” Her voice trailed off.

Xia Rou didn't look too pleased. ”Are you kidding me? Since you don't want to have anything to do with me...”

Wan Jia felt as though her heart had been pulled away. ”Oh mom, you know that's not what I mean, right?”

”Then you accept it, right?”

Wan Jia was speechless.

You only know to trick me.

...

Two hours after Wan Jia got her new phone, she recieved a call.

Her cell phone number was private so she didn't have to worry about being bothered by the media.

Nervously, she picked the call.

”Mommy...sob.”

The call ended.

Wan Jia was startled. It was a little girl's voice. Little Jia!

She tried to call back, but the other party had switched off their phone.

Without even remembering to wear her shoes, Wan Jia rushed out of the door. She bumped into Lin Lihua just outside. Since she was too fast, Lin Lihua wasn't able to avoid her.
