Lu Aotian met her gaze with his. ”In your eyes, am I a person that kills without reason?”

Lu Aotian didn't know why his wife was trying to defend them but he agreed. ”Okay.”

Wan Jia was finally relaxed.

Lu Aotian was currently thinking about how weird it was for his enemies to be offering help to his wife. Could it be that they wanted something in return?

When he went back to his office, he got into his investigation mode.

”Bro, what are you doing?” the curious Lu Shaoting was at it as usual.

”Investigating Qian Li.” He answered expressionlessly.

”Is there anything I can do to help?”

”Find out everything about his ancestors. The more detailed the better.”

Hours later.

”That was strange. I found no connection between them and sister-in-law. Not even a tiny one with the He family.” Lu Shaoting said.

”There's none with the Lin family.” Lu Aotian sighed.

”Perhaps they are related to Xia Rou?” Lu Shaoting thought aloud.

”They are not.” That was Lu Aotian's first hypothesis since Xia Rou was the only person around Wan Jia whose life was mysterious.
