Chapter 123 - He wanted to complain to his sister-in-law! (1/2)
He did not dwell on the second part of her statement; he knew that. But what...? She already trusted Yun Jifeng that much? He really had to act fast.
”I'll be on my way now.” he said as he looked at his watch.
She pouted and looked sad...
”What's wrong, you want to come with me?” he asked gently as he rubbed her head.
”My kiss!” she whined.
”Oh..” he kissed her and only then was he allowed to go.
....
”Little Wan, is something wrong today?” Elder Qian asked. After being master and disciple for a while, he had begun to treat her like he would treat his granddaughter and started adressing her fondly as ”Little Wan”.
Today, he had given her a task of coming up with an outfit that people who don't like dresses could wear to a banquet. It was a very important task, yet he saw the young lady's mind was preoccupied with other things.
Not only that, his decades of experience let him see that every stroke she made on that sheet of paper was filled with sadness and bitterness.
”Little Wan?” he waved his wrinkled hand in front of her face when he noticed she didn't hear him.
She snapped back. ”Grandfather Qian?”
He became even more concerned. ”Little Wan, are you having trouble somewhere? Is Lu Aotian, that punk, bothering you?”
”Of course not Grandfather Qian, I'm alright. Aotian would never do anything to make me feel troubled.”
The old man's face turned dark when he heard her. ”Little Wan, you don't have to speak up for him. If he bullies you then let me know. I'll teach him a good lesson.”
”Thanks Grandfather Qian.” she smiled.
”Do you need a day off today?” he asked her. ”If you have unsettled issues on your mind, you will not be able to concentrate on anything else. Why don't you take a day off and settle your problems with that punk?” He still believed she was having trouble with Lu Aotian.
Wan Jia thought about what he had just said. Yes, he was right. If she had issues on her mind, how could she come up with anything? Peace of mind was one very important thing for her to be able to design anything. She tended to always reciprocate her feelings on paper.
”Then, I won't be too polite, Grandfather Qian.” she smiled and packed her stationery.
”Should I call that rascal to pick you up?” he asked, referring to Lu Aotian.
