After leaving the villa, Qi Qi walked to the edge of a pond and took out Regan's phone from his pocket, raised his hand, and threw it far away.
By the time she got out of the house, she had already let go of Regan's tyre, and now she had thrown away her cell phone so that he wouldn't be able to contact the outside world immediately, which would at least delay him for a long time. By the time he'd finished cleaning himself up, found the bus stop, and contacted the Ray or the Gao family, she was long gone.
He quickly walked to the front of the small white building, took out the key Zhen Ping gave her, opened the door, and walked to the car she bought two days ago.
She had just unlocked the car when the wooden door of the small building was pushed open from the inside.
When Qi Qi looked up, he saw Zhen Ping in his home uniform, one hand in his pants pocket and the other holding the doorknob.
”So you were here? I thought you went out?” Qi Qi Qi smiled at Zhen Ping, but his hand didn't stop moving. He took off his backpack, opened the back door, and threw it at the seat.
Then she opened the driver's-side door with one hand against the door frame and the other holding the door open.
”Originally, I should have thanked you for lending me a place to park my car. However, I have an urgent matter to attend to so I didn't have much time. Thus, I could only thank you next time.”
”If you have something to do, then go ahead. I just heard some noise coming from outside the door and came out to take a look. Since it's you, then it doesn't matter anymore.” Zhen Ping took a step forward and stood under the eaves of the door. Facing the sunlight, he smiled.
Seeing this scene, Qi Hua furrowed his brow and subconsciously asked a very common question: ”Have we met before?”
”I definitely won't forget such a fresh and beautiful lady like Miss Gao, but I really don't have much of an impression of her. Perhaps...” The smile on Zhen Ping's face deepened as he said, ”Maybe, it's because of fate.”
When Qi Qi asked this, she regretted it already. Now that Zhen Ping denied it, she didn't say anything anymore. She only thought of Zhen Ping as a person with a face of the masses.
”Hehe, Mr Zhen sure knows how to joke around.” Qi Qi turned around and looked at the direction of the villa as she pondered on how she and Zhen Ping should leave as soon as possible.
”Miss Gao's task seems to be very urgent, so I will not delay you any longer. I wish you every success.” Zhen Ping gave her a meaningful look, then slightly nodded and retreated behind the door, waving goodbye.
”The next time I have the opportunity, I will properly express my gratitude to Mister Zhen. Goodbye!” Although he knew he would not have a chance to see her again, he made a social promise.
”Goodbye!”
Seeing Qi Qi Qi get into the car and start the engine to quickly reverse the car, Zhen Ping softly muttered this sentence.
When he came out, he was already out of sight. He turned around and was about to drive away, but the place was so deserted that she couldn't go far without a car.
But when he walked up to the car and prepared to open the door, he felt that the car's height was much lower than usual. Lowering his head to look, he saw that the four wheels had been released by someone.
He remembered that he still had one of his computers in his briefcase. As long as he could get online, he would be able to get someone to come pick him up.
However, when he finally found his briefcase in a corner of the living room and turned on the computer, he realized that he couldn't turn it on no matter what. He took a closer look, the computer was out of battery, he didn't have the habit of carrying around recharging equipment, so it was impossible for him to find a similar charger in this villa.
At the last moment, he finally regained his sense of reason. There were still many important documents in the computer that had yet to be backed up, and if it was destroyed, then he would be in countless trouble later on.
There was nothing he could do, so he gave up on the idea of asking for help. He rummaged through his briefcase, pulled out his wallet, and opened it. There was a lot of cash, but it was all hundred-dollar bills and there was no change in it.
After thinking for a moment, he walked out with his wallet in his hand. He jogged to a nearby bus stop and waited patiently for a car to arrive at the city center. When he got on the car, he stuffed 100 yuan into the coin box under the driver's strange gaze.
