Chapter 31: Killer (1/2)

Michu, Yumi, and Sandra were together.

The two ladies had already seen the picture of victorious Michu and soldiers, so they wanted to hear it about him personally. In Michu's territory and his house, Venomous and Sandra took the beat and sat down next to each other.

Michu took the chair for himself before them and swung himself on it back and forth.

He nearly fell off, but it was rather due to his excitement as he talked about what exactly had happened in the mine.

Venomous said, ”In other words, you took soldiers with yourself and went for the solo quest.” Her bland tone and lack of emotions stopped Michu who had been expecting praise from her, ”Aren't you ahead of us in level? Good work… But there is one flaw.”

”What flaw?” Michu asked, but Venomous didn't say anything. She stood silent and just looked at him without expressing herself in any other way. It made Michu sad as he just wanted to hear something else.

Though 'Good work' was also a kind of praise, it was said differently and in a worse mood.

Michu glanced at Sandra but she also didn't say anything. Both his friends stood quiet as if teamed up against him.

This forced the monke to let out what he had been expecting bluntly, ”I wanted to hear praise! I worked so hard and even though the process wasn't great, we did it! I learned a lot and had fun too!”

Yumi didn't respond, so Michu added, ”I want a kiss on the cheek!” He crossed his arms, raised his chin, and waited for a kiss as it was an appropriate reward for his deed, or at least that was what Carlos told him.

Venomous glanced to the side, stood up, and unsheathed her sword, ”That's the flaw.” She pointed her sword at the window, ”Get out, you old fuck. Let me claim those remaining teeth of yours.” The flaw was that Michu had spent time alone with the soldiers, so they would surely pass some unnecessary ideas to him!

Who would ask a friend for a kiss as a reward? Of course, a person who had another goal in mind! Was Michu such a person? Though honest, he didn't try to engage in a relationship so Yumi baited him out to spit out the truth.

Now that she learned what happened between him and the soldiers wholly, Venomous' sword took off and she began to chase after Carlos who had been running with everything he got already.

”Snake! Snake! Snake on my way!” His words rippled through the whole forest.

Sandra commented, ”That's too bold, Michu! You can't ask for a kiss like that. It would be more appropriate if you both completed the quest together. By then, maybe you would get closer and become a pair? Though cliche, fighting together can lead to fulfilling development. It would be like a scene out of a novel and women like that… At least I would like that, I think.”

”I can't get into a relationship, because I am poor and it would be sad for my partner,” Michu said while caressing his chin. He would be a bad partner because he couldn't even afford a proper meal for himself in real life, so what could he possibly offer to his other half?

Though they weren't exactly his words, Michu understood them.
