19 CHAPTER 19: Having a good time Former Goddess? (1/2)
The air around Zeran and Mai grew intense that would let anyone feel the immense gravity pulling them downwards, since the two of them haven't seen each other for a long while, until now. Zeran was in his thoughts, as he was feeling a mix of nervousness and surprise, although he was somehow praising himself in the process too,
(”Yeah...so she is clearly MY GODDESS WIFE BEFORE, my first EX-WIFE...”)
(”Until I knew the WHOLE TWISTED truth...”).
As Zeran was looking shocked at the presence of Mai, his consciousness submerged into his sea of memories. His mind was in a trance that retracted back the vivid images of his past.
In his flashback, he was now in a floating dome-like temple in which, everything was made out of pure glass. There were sculpted pillars patterned in the temple's circular form. The pillars were very much translucent that were reflecting their assorted glistening colors such as you'd see in a rainbow, radiating a combination of awe-inspiring vibrance and divine brilliance. The walls were transparent and prismatic that would seem the heavenly clouds were visible below his feet. Zeran was panting with a confident look, as he was on top of a slain three headed cerberus at the center, while the cerberus was bleeding colorless liquid from all of its severe wounds and cuts. Its fur was deep black and the flames of its eyes were gone. His golden claw was seeped in the pure liquid. Suddenly, a bright ball of golden light shone in front of him. Thereon, Mai descended to him such as a Goddess was saved by her hero. Though, Mai's appearance wasn't such a strong independent valkyrie but, her look was a pure maiden's innocent appearance. Her strong will wasn't visible, since delicateness and benevolence were witnessed by him instead. Her eyes were oh so blooming in divine, free from all hatred! Her form was the ideal embodiment of such a light Goddess, especially for Zeran. Moreover, she was having huge pure white wings arching from her beautiful back, representing a true light Goddess's majestic form. He noticed her and the first thing he saw was her brimming smile that would relieve anyone of their plight. As her feet touched the glass encased floor, her long hair has flown down gracefully. She looked at him and spoke with her pure soothing Goddess-like voice filled with deep gratitude,
”Thank you for saving our world Zeran...”
”I knew you could do it...”
”Now what reward do you want...”
”Reincarnate hero king Zeran?”.
Zeran replies,
”Say Mai...I know this sounds weird but...”
”I want you to become my wife...”.
Soon, he made his golden claw to vanish quite magically. He knelt down on the ground in a very noble-like manner towards her. He revealed to the Goddess Mai a dazzling and pure diamond ring encased in a red velvet box, turning the whole place's atmosphere to be filled with fluttering hearts. The golden butterflies emerged and were fluttering around the area, turning the place to be filled with such as golden stars moving around. Zeran looked at her eyes directly. Then, he composed himself and proposes in a very gentle way,
”Will you marry me?”.
Mai was surprised and her red blushing cheeks were seen by Zeran's interested eyes waiting for her response. Mai shunned her feverish face away for a second, since she was kinda deciding in her thoughts although, her goddess smile was gone, that turned Zeran to feel some kind of doubt and his confident smile was losing its vibrance gradually. She noticed that it was making him uneasy, so she turned her face back at him and she left out a nice smile. She said with sincerity yet, she wasn't looking at him directly,
”Oh...I see...well...”
”I truly accept your offer Zeran...”.
As Zeran heard that coming from her, his uneasiness had vanished and his grateful smile was back. His gleeful voice leaked out,
”I love you...Mai...my Goddess...”.
He hugged Mai with all his heart. Mai responded by embracing him with her divine arms, yet her face expressed deep guilt that would seem she was hiding something from him, although he didn't notice that, as he was too complacent of her acceptance. Soon enough, her pent-up guilt made her to slip her mouth, that was filled with sorrow,
”I see...I just hope the hard truth won't shock you hero Zeran...”.
That sudden moment, as she heard her own slip of the mouth, she was surprised and it seemed she told herself that she shouldn't have revealed a glimpse of the pandora's box to him. While he had heard her intriguing reply, his face full of happiness before was replaced by a dumbfounded one. The air felt heavy and the golden butterflies vanished instantly. He left out a strange sudden reply,
”Huh?”.
After sometime, a shining ray of light surrounded the both of them. The divine light shone bright and transferred the two of them in another floating place. The floor was also encased in glass, although the eye-catching part is that, in front of them was the extravagant and huge pure white castle in pristine glass. It's structure was like you'd see a grandeous castle in the middle ages but it was made in frozen ice and polished luminous crystals, etched in very intricate design. There were some protruding shining crystals releasing their prismatic rainbow colors from the floor. Even though, they were at high-ground the winds were calm. Zeran was fascinated by the very beauty of the place, since it was the sacred sanctuary of the light Goddess Mai. Other than that, Nassus was leaning at the entrance, as if he was waiting for the both of them, making Zeran to utter a deep question,
”Nassus? Why are you here?”.
Nassus replies,
”For your recognition of joining our circle with the light Goddess Mai...”.
Zeran felt surprised and his face looked dumbstrucked even more than before. As for Mai, it made her to feel butterflies in her stomach. Her body felt numb and she had second thoughts if she should tell the harsh truth she was hiding from him. Though, she gulped down her throat and she looked tense, that zipped her mouth from slipping. Later, the three of them entered the lavishing crystal castle. Zeran witnessed the amazing interior of the royal palace. Again, more prismatic pillars were there to welcome them at the hallways. The whole area looked even more spacious than from the outside. The floor was tiled in glassy marble and the long red carpet on the floor was there to greet them with utter respect. The walls were pure white. Two stairs opposing each other that leads to the two rooms left and right. The ever grandè glass sculpture of Mai in its absolute detail of her holistic appearance was on the upper floor too. His face was surprised with amazement by the grandeous place from the inside. The three of them just proceeded straight and there was a white crystal door radiating rainbow aura. As they opened and entered through the crystal door, Zeran noticed the queen-sized round and bright white bed that was made out of high quality spider silk, glistening its shine at the very center. The bedroom was formed into an octagon and each side was having small koi waterfall fishponds flowing into the serene pure waters, in which all of them were connected around them at the edges, with various koi fishes swimming about in harmony. There were huge and small floating quartz crystal that was reflecting the very appearance of rainbow koi fishes in its very form. At the luminous ceiling was the glass chandelier bringing out rays of bluish brilliance. The place looked-like it was truly the room worthy of a Goddess of the Skyglass world. Though, there were also three males that were sitting at the queen-sized bed. The three males had various handsome looks. All of them had heroic appearances and wore regal clothes fit for saviors of the Goddess. Though, their expressions were letting out villanous evil grins on their faces as they saw the Goddess Mai, in which it was very ironic to see. Suddenly, the doors slammed shut. Nassus, went in front of Zeran and Mai. Then, Nassus speaks with utter respect and warm welcome to Zeran,
”We welcome you Zeran...for joining the heroes circle for the Goddess Mai...”
”And becoming...ONE OF HER HUSBANDS...”.
The air felt icy cold as the shocking truth was revealed to Zeran. As he heard that alarming welcome, he was filled with deep confusion and exclaimed with a problematic expression on his face, that he wouldn't want to believe what he had heard,
”Wait...WHAT?!”.
He had a tensed up feeling and he felt sweaty. He turned his face to Mai and held her shoulders, since he wanted to hear the whole truth coming from her, so he asks with all his heart to her, while he was shaking her whole body,
”Mai is this all true?!”.
Mai's only response was a subtle nod with a saddened face, that turned out Nassus was telling the harsh truth. He was no longer shocked yet, his face was seething with rage, since it felt like he was tricked by his very ideal Goddess. The air grew more intense and it was heating up gradually. He asks her again but, his eyes was filled with great wrath as he kept on shaking her body,
”MAI! WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?!”.
She was struck with deep silence. The only reply she did was to leak out sorrowful pure crystal tears from her crying face. As Zeran witnessed her pitiful and sorrowful face he had stopped holding her shouders. He gripped his own skull tight since he was having a hard time to accept the terrifying truth. Mai felt guilty such as she had stabbed his loving heart and let him feel the grievious pain from behind. Soon enough, she tries to apologize and explain with all her dear heart and soul,
”Zeran...I'm sorry that I didn't tell you before but it's—”.
Though, Nassus interrupts her,
”Zeran...You should know that in this world there are alot of heroes and saviors...”.
The other hero, went close to Goddess Mai and held her flawless shoulder. The other hero knacked out a devilish smile directly and said with great empahasis at Zeran,
”And like you...we wanted a TASTE of a Goddess aswell...”
”So why don't we SHARE and have a great TIME with OUR Goddess wife...”.
Mai turned her face away to Zeran trying to tell him that she doesn't want hurt him nor let him believe what the other hero said yet, for Zeran it felt like he was toyed by the Goddess, due to the current incident happening before his eyes. Thereon, he was in his thoughts that created a deep scar in his heart and it was squeezed by the thorn of lies he had incurred,
(”Da*n it all!”)
(”After all we had lots of great and fun times together...”)
(”This BITCH of a Goddess didn't tell me anything about this...”).
Suddenly, he punched the wall with immense force, that wrought out a strong impact that reverberated around the room, that even left out a huge crack and bore a crater as he released his arm. The chandelier shook from the aftermath. The other heroes, except Nassus were all astunned in silence as they noticed the Zeran burning in hatred near the crystal door. Zeran tried to compose himself but, the wrath in his eyes was still leaking of crimson rage. Soon, he opened the door and left the room. Mai tried to follow him and call him back with all her caring heart and yearning tears like she was a desperate lover,
”Zeran...please wai—”.
