Chapter 59 - Coincidence
Blue brick with lacquer, white horse with fresh mud.
Those who usually loved to come to the teahouse to drink tea and hear about books walked to the door and saw that the two guards were inexplicably nervous. Their hearts were filled with fear and hesitation as they stepped into the teahouse. After entering, they did not forget to turn their heads to see if there was a mistake.
When the waiter saw that the guests were panicking, he hurriedly greeted them with a smile, ”Please come in, sir.”
The guests tidied their clothes and swaggered in.
The atmosphere in the teahouse was tense and cautious. There were two people guarding the stairs that led to the second floor and the corridor to the left of the second floor.
There was a storyteller in this teahouse. The story he told was strange and had new meanings. Many customers would be invited to listen to him, making the teahouse very crowded.
Yun Qianliang sat on the second floor at the viewing stand right above the left side of the storyteller. Not only could he hear her words carefully, he could also see the expressions of all the people listening.
She had been in Tan Yue City for a day, wandering around to understand more about Tan Yue City.
The prosperity of the Tan Yue City was comparable to that of the capital.
Although the rich were rich, they were rich to the point where they could not afford to waste any time. As far as they could see, there were many streets in the city where people could amuse themselves and kill time. Among the ten shops, one was a place for the rich to enjoy themselves, which was extremely corrupt.
Yun Qianliang held a piece of silver and played with it patiently. The tea on the table had turned cold, so she pushed it away while drinking.
Chun Hua stood up, and then took the cup of tea that was completely cold, and went to the first floor to find a waiter to exchange for a pot of hot tea.
The teacher dressed as a scholar knocked on the wooden pestle and ended the story. He took a bottle of tea from the table and drank a mouthful of water. The guests urged him to continue.
Yun Qianliang stopped playing with the silver, he knocked on the table and started to talk.
”Sir, you are talking about matters of the mortal world, I am really confused.” Yun Qianliang's expression was cold, his voice was calm and steady amidst the clamor, ”We were born in the mortal world, and suffered from the hardships of the people, why didn't Mister tell us about the people's lives?”
There were guards around her and servants accompanying her. Being in the teahouse, she had already attracted quite a bit of attention. At this moment, her voice attracted quite a bit of attention as everyone looked towards her.
Yun Qianliang was still dressed like a little miss, his black hair was half pulled back, and the beads on his head were shining, but she was wearing a veil, making it impossible for people to see her face, but his figure and actions under the embroidered clothes, were enough to cause people's hearts to tremble, making them more curious about her appearance.
”The government will naturally worry about the people's livelihood. As a common citizen, it's useless for me to talk about it. Besides, books are a piece of cake for people to listen to. The people's hardships may not be too heavy.” The storyteller looked up at the second floor with a calm gaze, as if he were looking at an ordinary person.
”Sir, you are a very tactful person.” Yun Qianliang got up, walked two steps towards the direction of the column, and looked downwards, ”There is a saying, 'Seeing is believing, hearing is believing,' and Mister always speaking of false matters, which is rather boring.”
”Then what does Miss want to hear?” the storyteller asked humbly.
”The truth, only the truth can be counted as a hundred forms of human nature, revealing the true meaning.” Yun Qianliang replied.
”Truth is a private matter. I can't say, I can't say.” The storyteller shook his head and looked away.
”Then, I'll be making things difficult for you, Teacher.” Yun Qianliang then gave up, returned to his seat, and continued drinking tea and listening to the books.
The atmosphere in the crowd was not very peaceful. From time to time, there would be people looking at them.
Yun Qianliang sent someone to investigate and when they came back, they leaned over and whispered a few words into her ear.
”Return to the inn.”
Yun Qianliang led the group of people and left in a grandiose manner.
After they left the teahouse, a carriage came up to greet them. She boarded the carriage and left.
The teahouse was bustling with noise and excitement, even the young masters and daughters of the Tan Yue City did not see such a stance.
”Which noble family is this, to have so many guards outside?” The nice customer looked at the horse carriage as it left, asking the waiter about the matter.
”It sounds like a noble from Beijing.” The waitress came back a few times with tea and listened to some idle chatter.
”No wonder the shelves are so big.”
Song Shujin only brought a guard to Tan Yue City on the surface, in order to hide his identity, he disguised himself as a son of a rich family and an attendant. He dressed normally, and after entering the city, he did not go to a inn or stay in the Imperial Family Courtyard, only finding an inn to stay.
After finding an inn, the two of them strolled around the street in order to get a better sense of the situation.
As the guards escorted the carriage through the street, the two of them moved aside as if they were civilians. They turned around as they saw the man who was driving past and pretended to look at the items on the stall.
After the carriage passed, Lu Zhe looked at the guards and muttered: ”Master, isn't that the people from the Gu Xiangfu? Could it be that Gu Xiang came to the Tan Yue City ahead of us? ”
Song Shujin's cold eyes only glanced at the passing carriage, and he took the things in his hands, ”Pay up.”
