5 Evolution System (1/2)

Tristan looked at the lines of floating text in shock. He hesitated for a long time before thinking in his mind.

”Absorb.”

Soon the silky bead slowly disappeared and Tristan could feel a gentle and cold energy wash his insides as well clean his body and rejuvenate his cells.

Then he saw within his vision a few lines of text.

[Gratitude of a Remnant Spirit has been absorbed.]

[Progress +10%]

Tristan thought for a bit. ”Do I have some kind of digital system?” He contemplated for a while, before calling out a single word within his mind. ”Status.”

[Race: Human]

[Evolution Level - None]

[Progress - 10%]

”Evolution level...it seems like the silky bead progressed my path to evolving. Evolution... does this system help in allowing me to evolve? What does it mean to evolve?” Tristan was shocked by the turn of events.

Tristan walked back out to see Cory still heavily injured and unconscious. He wasn't sure what he should do, when he remembered the business card the government official had given him earlier.

He called the contact number.

”...Tristan? Did something happen?” A voice spoke on the other line.

”I am at the temple ruin in ... area. There is a person here who was attacked by a paranormal event, I thought you could help.” Tristan said calmly.

The government worker took in a breath. ”I'm coming with a team, don't do anything stupid in the mean time.”

Half an hour later, a group of three individuals including the government official climbed up the stairs of the temple and saw Tristan camping there outside a tent, calmly. Lying beside him was an unconscious man who looked very ill and bleeding heavily.

One of the three immediately reached to the injured Cory and a pale white light was emitted from his hands, healing the injured. Tristan raised his eyes when he saw that.

The official looked at Tristan. ”Can you explain what happened?” Tristan blinked.

”I have filed a report with the Vast Expanse already.” Tristan said.

The government official raised his eyes in surprise. ”You've already managed to find out about the Vast Expanse and join it? Aren't you quick? Were you here on a mission?”

Tristan nodded. ”I was here to investigate the rumors of this temple being haunted. Came here to camp for a couple of days, seeing how good the view is. Then this guy suddenly arrived, claiming he came here to exorcise an evil spirit.”

The official nodded. ”He is indeed a low level spirit detector registered with us. Go on.”
