”The southern suburbs. That's the slums. Why would Mu Hua go there?”
”You can go back first.” The two brats disappeared in a flash. I sat on the sofa and drank some water. I planned to go to the southern suburbs by myself tonight. When it was late at night, I changed into my clothes and left the house with my magic tools.
I took the elevator downstairs and was just out of the building when I saw a familiar car parked in front of the door.
”Beep, beep...” ”Beep, beep.” I turned around and looked. The window rolled down and I saw that it was Guan Rou.
Guan Rou opened the door and jumped out of the car. She was wearing black leather clothes and pants as she said, ”What are you waiting for? Why aren't you getting in?”
”You … Why are you here? ” I wondered how she knew what I wanted and was waiting for me.
I opened the door and jumped in. There was a policewoman in civilian clothes, too, and she gave me a look.
”Who is this?”
”She's an intern from another department. She's working with us tonight.” It's not like I'm going to play,
Guan Rou started the car slowly and asked me where I was going.
I told her to go to the southern suburbs and we drove slowly toward the southern suburbs. Perhaps it was because it was late at night, but there were very few cars on the road. Soon, they arrived at the southern suburbs.
I opened the door and got out of the car. It was a cold night, but I had a coat on.
”This is the place. There are some poor people here who have committed the most crimes. The police have suppressed those poor people for a few times, but it has never worked.”
Why are you telling me this? Was it to scare me, to let me go back?
”Close the line!” What are we doing here? ” I looked at the policewoman. She was only twenty-three years old. She looked around fearfully.
I whispered, ”Catch the ghost!”
I took out the copper coin sword from my bag and handed it to Guan Rou. I told her that she would chop it into pieces no matter what if she met a ghost. The three of us walked down a dirt road surrounded by wild grass, and from time to time a cold wind blew.
After walking for around ten minutes, he walked out of the wasteland. Not far ahead was a slum. There were roughly fifty families, all of them with tiled houses. I took out my axe from my backpack in alarm. This place was shrouded in darkness. No matter if it was a ghost or a person, they would have to be on guard against anyone coming here.
”Where are we going to catch ghosts?”
”What's going to happen to Liu Gongsheng next? Don't tell me you want us to wander around in the vicinity?” I glanced around. I was figuring out what to do next.
I took out the bronze bell and shook it a few times. Following the sound of the bell, a dozen wandering souls appeared from within the underbrush and floated towards me.
The wandering souls stopped in front of me and looked at me strangely.
I coughed lightly and pretended to be deep as I said, ”Have you seen this woman before?”
I took out the photos and the wandering souls pointed in one direction. I waved them away.
”It's right in front. Let's go!” It's so dark here that it's scary. I felt that in a dark corner, a few people could rush out at any time and attack us.
”Clang …” A broken iron basin fell to the ground with the cold wind blowing. A black cat crawled out from the corner. Its two eyes emitted a deep green light. It was said that souls existed where black cats existed.
whoosh * A red light flashed in front of me. I hastily chased after it and ran into a broken house. The room was dark and smelled musty.
”Help …”
